The Influence of the Stock Market on the Development

and the Sustainability of the New Economy
Our University The subject of our thesis is:

"The influence of the stock market on the development and sustainability of the New Economy".

At the moment we see three interesting sub-topics:

Firstly, we want to analyse the question, if the abundance of money from the stock market is enabling generative strategies and business ideas or is it strongly leading to an "attraction-gathering game", where "best-practise"-companies and fast followers are winning.

Secondly, what impact does the stock market have on the internal organisation of a company? E.g. does a wide spread use of share price based incentive systems increase or endanger the sustainability of New Economy companies? How does New Economy companies keep employees motivated in times of stock market downturnes?

Thirdly, how does the stock market influence the strategy and the competition in the New Economy? Is a strong shareholder relation fostering a short- term orientation, where revolutionary changes might be circumvented by the CEOs? Or is a sophisticated information-strategy one of the competitive advantages of sustainable New Economy companies?
