The MBTAS authentically recreates gunner's control handles
of the world's premiere main battle tanks. Imagine more accurate
tracking, lasing, and blazing on your favorite tank or mechanized land
warfare simulation using the same techniques used by Army and Marine
Corps tank gunners for decades.

The MBTAS is a USB powered input entry device for the PC that approximates tank gunnery for land based mechanical warfare simulations like MechWarrior and Steel Beasts.

The MBTAS yoke is a hybrid, modeled from the "cadillacs" of the M1 Abrams and Lepaprd II MBTs. Most tank targeting controls adhere to the military mindset of KISS by incorporating only three or four controls such as turret engage/dynamic lead palm switches and rocker switches, laser
rangefinder and fire buttons.

The handle action is an X/Y-directional yoke with an action similar to that of Atari's 1983 Star Wars console game.

To offer gamers and simulation fans a greater range of control, an eight way hat switch and 2 general purpose buttons will be added to each control handle. These are in addition to the palm and index finger triggers and thumb rocker switch.
