"I tell myself not to worry about this, that worrying doesn't accomplish anything, it only makes things seem worse, etc, but I can't help myself." Dawson tells Pacey.
"I know what you mean." Pacey agrees. "That summer, way back when, when Andie had to spend the summer in Providence, I felt the same way. Granted the situation isn't as severe as this one, but I knew worrying about her could only make this worse, I realized I just needed to let things take their course. And as obtuse and ridiculous, and unimaginable as this all sounds to you right now, Dawson, it's the only you can do with out making yourself crazy."
Dawson half-smiles. "I think I'm already crazy."
"Just one step at a time." Pacey tells him.
"Shouldn't they have called by now?" Andie asks wondering where Dawson and Pacey were. It was nearing five o'clock and Andie had made dinner reservations for six. She had a sitter coming over to watch the boys.
"Call Pacey's cell phone." Joey suggests as she heats up some hot dogs for the boys for dinner.
"Mommy, can you make me some chocolate milk?" Taylor asks Joey smiling. Chocolate milk was his most favorite thing in the world, and he wouldn't let anyone but Joey make it for him. It had become almost a joke between them, Taylor asked her for it before every meal, without fail, and it got to the point where Joey only let him have it a few times a day, and if he was bad instead of taking away his toys or making him go to bed early, she and Dawson wouldn?t let him have chocolate milk as punishment.
"Have you had any chocolate milk today?" Joey asks him, unable to remember.
"No." Taylor lies, smiling. Joey had made him some before she took a nap.
"Nice try, smart guy." Joey tickles him. "Think again."
"Pacey said he and Dawson should be leaving soon." Andie tells Joey hanging up the phone. "Apparently the game ran into over time."
Pacey and Dawson get into Pacey's car. Pacey drives out of the parking lot and down the road. He drives for awhile, and they're both silent. But it was okay, there wasn't a need to talk.
