Romancing Jim
Patt and Amy
This is PU. Patt’s Universe. I make up my own time lines and
expect everyone to go with it. Amy does and she’s writing this with
me. So perhaps this isn’t going to be that bad. <g>
Poor Amy, she’s been corrupted. It’s too late.
Jim, Simon, Brown, Rafe, Conner and Joel Taggert were all waiting patiently
in the bar at the across from the apartments they were staking out.
Sneaks had informed them that the man they were looking for would be in the
bar at 7:00. So, as of 4:00, they were all in the bar. They all
took turns dancing with the one and only female of the group. Rafe
trying to lighten up the mood in the bar said to Jim, “Wanna dance, tough
stuff?” Jim didn’t answer, only growled at Rafe and turned in his seat.
There's only one fucking man I want to dance with and he isn’t here.
Joel walked up to Jim and said, “Heads up, Jim. Someone's giving you the
once over.”
Jim looked in the direction that Joel was looking and saw a beautiful red
haired woman. When she smiled at Jim there was something about her
smile. The look made Jim want to melt. He found himself smiling back,
not knowing why. He wasn’t looking to date. He wasn’t looking
for anyone. He had one person on his mind these days. And
you can’t fucking have him.
Jim turned away from the redhead and kept watching the front door.
When their suspect walked in at about 7:00, Simon and Joel arrested him.
There were no problems. Everything went as smooth as silk. Joel
and Simon took him down to the station and the rest of the group had a beer
together. Jim kept watching the redhead and saw she was interested.
Jesus, it'd been a long time since he’d fucked anyone. Maybe he
should go for it. Why not just fuck around on him?
Jim laid his head down on the bar and Conner said, “Jim, are you okay? Do
you need me to call Sandy?”
“Why would I need you to call him for me? I’m a big boy, Conner. I
can take care of myself.” Jim almost yelled.
“Sorry, mate, you looked upset and I was worried.” Conner said, getting up
and walking out of the bar mumbling to herself about stupid cops.
Rafe and Brown left next and Jim was just sitting there getting good and
drunk. Something he never did. He figured that he could call
Blair if need be. Jim watched the foam on top of the beer and wondered how
long it would stay there before it lost it and went flat. Useless,
just like you, Ellison.
A soft touch was the next thing he felt. His arm felt like it did when
he was at home. He turned to see Blair and instead saw the redhead.
She smiled and said, “Hi, my name is Nina Sands. What’s yours?”
“Detective Jim Ellison.” Jim said quietly back to her.
“Well, I saw you were a cop. But a detective. How impressive.”
Nina said, “You look like you’ve had a few too many. Want to
come over to my apartment? I live across the street?”
Getting up, Jim stumbled and almost fell on his face. Would've, if
not for Nina. “Come on, Jim. If nothing else, you can have some
coffee.”
“Okay, I could use some coffee.” Jim said as he allowed himself to be led
out of the bar and across the street. Ellison, what the hell are
you doing? Jim could see nothing good coming from this. In
fact, quite the opposite. There was something wrong with this woman.
He couldn’t put his finger on it but there was something. When he was
sober, maybe, he’d think about it.
As they walked into the apartment complex, Jim again stumbled and Nina caught
him and said, “Okay, Jim, if you don’t quit doing that, you’re going to take
us both down.” She had a wonderful laugh. Full, rich and sweet, a lot
like her face and smile. A lot like his guide. Oh, shit.
Ellison, why are you thinking of Blair while you’re here with a gorgeous
woman?
As they walked into her apartment, Nina helped him lie down on the bed.
He just lay back and fell asleep. Nina came back into the room after
closing and locking the door and found Jim asleep. “Well, shit!” Nina
said quietly. She pulled Jim’s clothing off him and got him under the
covers. She slipped out of her clothes and slipped naked into the bed.
She had high hopes that Jim would make sweet love to her in the morning.
She had become such a romantic in the last few years. No more fucking
and running. Now she wanted sweet talk and sweet loving. What
had become of her nomad ways? Looking over at Jim, she realized what
she might have been missing out on all of these years. He was not only
nice to look at but nice to touch. As she ran her hand across his chest
Jim mumbled, “Chief.” Nina had no idea what to make of that but she
didn’t really care. Right now, this fabulous man was in her bed.
He was going to be hers. She had to have him. Nina tried to revive
Jim’s cock. Jim had other ideas. He was so out of it he couldn’t have
gotten hard if he wanted to.
When Jim woke the next morning Nina was sitting up and looking at him.
He just looked at her naked form and then looked at himself under the
covers. He smelled the air and realized he hadn’t come. Neither
had the woman. What was her name? Nita? Nina? Shit…
“Good morning, Jim.” Nina said with a huge smile on her lips. She slid
under the covers and started touching Jim’s cock which became very interested.
Jim was so pissed off at himself he could hardly see. “I’m really sorry.
I’m involved with someone.”
“Well, no one has to know about us, Jim.” Nina said.
Jim pushed her hands away from his cock and said, “No.” Jim got out of bed.
He didn’t care if she saw him naked or not. As he dressed, Nina said,
“Could I see you for dinner some night?”
Jim looked over at her and saw a very sad woman who was kind to him the night
before. It couldn’t hurt anything to give her his cell phone number.
He wrote down his number and said, “I’ll meet you for dinner one of these
nights. Thanks for letting me crash out. I never could have driven
home.”
"Jim, honey, you couldn’t have walked home.” Nina said, laughing as she took
the paper from Jim.
“Thanks again, Nina.” Jim said as he walked out the door. He couldn’t
get out of there fast enough. What was I doing? Shit…
Blair woke up to the sun shining into his face because he’d fallen asleep
on the sofa, worrying about Jim. He didn’t know what to do. Jim
had never stayed out all night long. Fuck you, Ellison. I can’t
believe I stayed up all night long worrying about you.
The front door opened and in walked Jim. Blair stood up and said, “Where
the fuck were you? Did you ever think of calling and letting me know
you were alive?”
“Sorry, Chief. I got drunk. I just woke up. I’m truly sorry.”
Jim said as he hung his head all the way into the bathroom.
“Was she worth it, at least?” Blair called out chidingly.
“It wasn’t like that, Chief. A very nice woman let me crash at
her place but she didn’t jump my bones. Not that I could have done
anything anyway.” Jim said through the door.
Suddenly the door just flew open. Blair glared at Jim and said, “You
went home with someone you didn’t know and passed out?”
“It’s okay, Chief. She seems really nice.” Jim said, trying to back
Blair back out of the bathroom.
Blair wasn’t having any of it. He didn’t even notice that Jim was now
naked and stepping into the shower. “Haven’t I ever given you the lecture
on going home with strangers? Jesus, I can’t believe you did that, Jim.
She could have fucked you while you were out for all you know.”
“Chief, calm down. I smelled no semen this morning. Stop worrying.
I promise to never do it again. I swear. Now, could I please shower
alone?” Jim said very quietly.
“Oh, sorry. I was just worried about you, Jim.” Blair said as he walked out
of the bathroom and closed the door.
As soon as Blair was out the door Jim started stroking his hard on.
Just being in the same room with Blair did it for him these days.
What do you think you’re going to do about that, Ellison? You’re supposed
to be a smart man. How did you let this happen? And who the hell
decides to sleep with men when he's almost 40?
Jim continued to stroke thinking of Blair’s sweet lips on his cock and he
came quietly. As he washed his body, he told himself, no more
of this. No more thinking about Blair. He’s your partner and
is very interested in women. Not a 40-year-old man.
When he came out of the bathroom, all clean, shaved and wrapped in a towel,
Blair didn’t say a word. Just watched him silently as Jim climbed the
stairs to get dressed. Once he was, he came down and they left for
their drive to the station.
Jim was unusually quiet all the way to the station. Finally, Blair
had to say something. “Jim, is everything all right?”
“Chief, everything's fine. Just tired and I drank too much last night.”
“Did you learn anything, then?” Blair asked laughing.
Jim turned and glared at his partner. It was the first thing that had
been like old times and it felt good. “Yes, sir, I did learn something.
Do you want me to write a paper on it?” Jim asked, slugging Blair in the
arm softly.
“Man, they give me a badge and you start abusing me.” Blair said, continuing
to laugh. “Got any plans for lunch?”
“Nope, why?” Jim answered.
“They opened that new health food place that you promised to go to.” Blair
said smiling.
“Fine, Chief. What time?” Jim asked.
“I have a meeting with the commissioner at 10:00, another meeting at 11:00
with Simon and then I’m yours.”
“Geeze, they make you a consultant and you think you’re important or something.”
Jim said, laughing and batting the back of Blair’s neck. “You gonna have
any time for your real partner today or will you be too busy?”
“Oh shut up, Jim. You know you always come first.”
“Yeah, I do know. I was teasing. You know that, right, Chief?”
Jim asked in all seriousness.
“Oh yeah, otherwise I’d be smacking you on the back of the head.” Blair said,
laughing and jumping out of the truck as Jim parked.
They had no sooner gotten upstairs and Jim’s cell phone went off. He
answered, “Ellison.”
“Hey Jim, this is Nina. I was wondering if I could meet you for lunch today.”
“Uh…” was all Jim got out of his mouth when Nina said, “There's a great Thai
food place not far from the station and I thought I would meet you there.
What do you say?”
“Could you hold on please?” Jim asked.
“Hey, Chief, do you mind if we don’t do lunch today?” Jim asked covering
up the phone. Blair saw this and knew it must be the woman from last
night. Shit…
“No problem, Jim. Do your own thing. I’ll ask one of the guys
or Conner to go.” Blair said, walking away.
“Sure, I’ll meet you for lunch. What time?” Jim asked.
“How about noon? That good for you?” Nina asked.
“That’s great. I’ll meet you there at noon. Talk to you later, Nina.”
Jim said as he hung up his phone. All right Ellison, you’re going
to break this off fast. You’ve got to be tough. You’re not looking
for anyone, especially not a woman. When Jim realized what he had
just told himself he started to laugh and Blair heard Brown say, “I think
Ellison's losing it big time. He’s been acting strange ever since last
night.” Rafe said, “Yeah, I know. I think it’s freaking him out
that a woman wanted him. He acts like no one ever has.” Both men laughed
and Blair realized that Jim might have met someone that was important to
him. Shit…
Nina looked at herself in the mirror and said, “You had to lie. You
couldn’t help it. If he knew about you, he’d never agree to date you.”
Nina had dated a drug dealer many years ago. When he was arrested,
she went into hiding. She had heard that the cops were looking for
all of those people that helped him spend that money. She was, after
all, guilty of that. However, she couldn’t be blamed forever, could
she? Not hardly. She changed her name for the most part. She went into
hiding and only her best friends called her by her real name. Jim wouldn’t
see her any longer if she told him the truth. It would make problems.
So, she’d just keep things quiet and see how they went. Once he was
in love with her, then she could tell him. Stop talking to yourself,
woman, and get ready for your lunch date.
When Nina walked into the restaurant she was smiling at Jim. Jim couldn’t
help but smile at her. She was not only beautiful but also had a kind
heart. Jim could tell. When she got closer, Jim felt something
that he only felt with Blair. She leaned over, kissed his cheek and
sat down. Jim was shocked. He had a boner from hell. Why?
He wasn’t even interested in this woman. Maybe he really needed to
get laid. Her scent was like that of Blair. Wholesome. Jim was
falling fast for this woman and he didn’t want to be. Ellison, you’re
not sleeping with this woman. You’re in love with your partner.
You won’t ever get anywhere if you’re fucking strange women. Think again.
Just like that, Jim lost the boner at the thought of losing Blair.
He loved his partner so much. Some day he’d have enough courage to
tell him about it.
Jim kept their conversation to only things that weren’t personal at all.
Nina was getting a little frustrated with him. She usually had a lot
better luck with men. Maybe Jim was gay. Nina, who gives a
shit? If he is, he won’t be when you’re done seducing him. Nina
smiled at him and Jim wasn’t sure he liked the smile that was on Nina’s face
at that moment. She looked as if she was going to eat him alive and
not in a sexual way. Nina moved closer to Jim and kissed him on his
lips. Her lips were sweet, soft, warm and moist. In fact, her
lips tasted so fucking good that Jim again found himself hard. Nina
had ordered what Blair usually had and so that’s whom Jim was thinking about.
But Nina thought the nice boner that Jim was sporting was for her.
Who wouldn’t, right?
Jim got up to pay the check and Nina followed him out of the restaurant.
She was so hot for him. She needed him inside of her. When they
got outside Jim seemed to be in control again. This pissed Nina off.
“Jim, do you think you could come over tonight?”
“Nina, I think you’re really nice, but I’m serious about someone else right
now.” Jim found himself saying.
“Well, why are you here if you’re serious about someone else?” Nina asked
innocently.
“Because I haven’t told that person yet.” Jim said before he could stop himself.
“Could we just talk in your truck?” Nina asked.
Jim walked to the truck with Nina following. He knew that she was going
to cry or something and was dreading it. When they got in, Nina was
kissing Jim in record time and while she was doing this, she was rubbing
his hard cock through his slacks. She pushed herself up against him
until she had the upper hand and Jim was trying to get her to stop but he
was so fucking close to coming. He wasn’t thinking with his big head.
Junior was getting all of the fucking blood flow. Nina could feel that
he was close and she didn’t want to take him all the way. If she did,
she would have nothing to tempt him with. She stopped rubbing and kissing
at the same time and pulled away from him. Jim looked totally confused.
“What’s wrong?” Jim asked in a husky voice.
“Jim, I want you to come over tonight. All right? We can take
this slower until you make up your mind about this other woman.” Nina said.
“I’ll see you at my place at 7:00 tonight. Drive carefully.” She said as
she jumped out of the truck.
Jim laid his head on the steering wheel and took deep breaths. Oh
Ellison, that was so good. You said you don’t want to fuck around on
Blair and you let a strange woman rub you in the truck and almost make you
come. You stupid fuck, it felt great. Now you’re a fucking slut.
Shit…
As Jim finally got himself under control, he drove back to the station.
He saw Blair leaning against his desk as soon as he walked into the bullpen.
He made a beeline for the bathroom. He went into a stall and started
whacking off. Jim heard the door open as he was just about there. Then
he smelled Blair and it took him over the edge. Jim had a hell of a time
keeping the noise down.
Blair said, “Jim, you okay?”
“Yeah, Chief, I’m fine. I’ll be out in a few minutes.” Jim said, trying
to sound casual. “Okay, partner, I’ll see you out in the bullpen.”
Blair said as he left the room. Jim leaned his head against the door
and felt a sadness overcome him. As soon as Blair found out his secret,
he’d move out. Jim knew that. Fuck…
When Jim walked over to his desk, Blair was talking on the phone. Jim
started working on some paper work and Blair said, “Wow, that was weird.”
“What was weird, Chief?” Jim asked.
“That was the Commissioner’s daughter. She just asked me out to dinner
tonight. Do you believe it?”
“Sure, Chief, you’re a popular guy.” Jim said, trying again to sound casual.
“Where are you going?”
“What are you doing tonight, Jim? Want to come along?” Blair asked
seriously.
“Not hardly, Chief. I’d feel like a third wheel and I’m sure Tara Daniels
wouldn’t appreciate it a bit. “
“Wow, I’m impressed. You know her name. That’s better than me.
I had to ask her.” Blair said.
“Chief, don’t go getting too impressed. I met her last week.
I would hope that I could remember from one week to the next or I’d be in
trouble as a detective.” Jim said, laughing.
“So Jim, what are you doing tonight?” Blair asked again, knowing damn well
he probably had a date with that woman. Shit…
“Well, I got asked to dinner, too, by that woman I was telling you about.
Her name's Nina. She seems nice. You’ll have to meet her.” Jim said.
“Nah, that’s okay. I’m sure that’s not on the list of must do for her...
meet Jim’s roommate.” Blair said very sarcastically.
“Okay.” Jim said, trying to figure out what happened here that had pissed
his guide off.
“Jim, you didn’t tell me anything about this woman. How do you know
she’s not a criminal or something?” Blair asked.
“I don’t. I guess I’ll just have to take my chances, eh?” Jim asked.
The rest of the day went by smoothly considering Blair was ready to kill
that woman that kept calling Jim and making him smile and go into the bathroom.
I want to make him go into the bathroom. Oh Geeze, you're so pathetic.
Why would you want to do that? Instead, I want to make him take me
into the bathroom. Even Blair had to smile at his little stab at
humor.
The drive home that night was quiet. Blair spoke not one word until
they walked in the door of the loft. “Jim, I think maybe you should
check this woman out before you go any further.”
“Chief, stop worrying. I’m a big boy and can take care of myself.”
Jim said, cuffing Blair on the back of the head.
“Stop that. I hate when you do that. You think you’re able to
take care of yourself but I’m not.” Blair said, walking away angrily.
“What are you talking about, Chief? You lost me.”
“You always make me take things slow and you check out the people I’m dating,
why's that?”
“I’m sorry. I won’t do that anymore.” Jim said.
“Forget I mentioned it.” Blair said storming off into the bathroom. He had
to shower and get ready for this dinner date. He had no time to
be worried about Jim. And even more, he shouldn’t be having feelings
about his very male roommate. Get a grip, Sandburg.
Jim watched Blair’s retreating figure wondering what the hell was going on.
If he didn’t know better he’d think Blair was jealous. Man, you're
reaching, Ellison. You know if you keep talking to yourself, you’ll
soon be out of work. Laughing, Jim walked upstairs and picked out
what he was going to wear to Nina’s house.
When Blair got out, he dressed in his room and didn’t talk to Jim for the
rest of the evening. While Jim was in the shower, Blair left.
He didn’t want to even look at Jim all dressed up. You might have
to find a new place, Sandburg. You can’t keep this up and if you keep
talking to yourself like this they’re going to fire your ass at the station
.
When Blair got to Tara’s house to pick her up, she looked beautiful.
He could easily fall for this woman if he wasn’t so damn in love with his
partner. Blair wished he had a friend he could talk to, someone who
might understand. They got along beautifully. They started to
go to the dinner when she asked, “Blair, would you rather have a quiet dinner
at home with me?”
“Tara, as nice as that sounds, I promised your dad that we would go to this
function and I always keep my promises.” Blair said quickly.
When Jim got out of the shower and got dressed, he looked in the mirror and
said out loud, “You're a chicken shit, Ellison. I can’t believe you
don’t just ask him what he thinks of dating men. The worst thing he can do
is say no, right? No, you moron, he could move. Fuck…”
Once he was all ready he left and drove over to Nina’s house. He wasn’t
really looking forward to it. When she opened the door, she smiled
that smile that won him over every single time. She pulled him down
into a kiss and he didn’t fight her off. But when they were done, he
said quietly, “Nina, I really have to take this slow. I need to make
up my mind about someone. I can’t do that this way. Can you understand
that?”
“Well, of course I can, Jim. Not to worry. We’ll take this slow.
I made a delicious home cooked meal for tonight. Do you like home cooking?”
Nina asked.
“Yes, I love to cook, too.” Jim said, smiling as he followed her into the
dining room. They sat down as she dished out a wonderful Russian meal.
While they ate, she explained all about the origins and where she’d learned
each recipe. Jim found himself having a very good time. She was
good company.
Blair wasn’t quite so lucky. Tara was a very nice girl but wanted sex.
That’s all. Blair realized that he used to be a lot like this but he
wasn’t any longer and didn’t want to be, either.
“Tara, I’m a little confused right now,” Blair said, “so I wanted to tell
you up front that I have someone else in my mind for dating but haven’t made
up my mind. Could we take this nice and slow?”
“That’s fine. I wouldn’t mind going slow for a change. Thanks
for telling me up front, Blair.” Tara said and kissed him softly and sweetly.
Blair sat there in the middle of the kiss wondering what the fuck he’d gotten
himself into.
Jim and Nina sat down on the sofa to talk but ended up making out.
Jim couldn’t help kissing her back. He felt such a strong connection
to her it wasn’t even funny. Nina ended up on top of him and moved
herself over his cock over and over again until Jim came. Jim just
leaned back and closed his eyes. He couldn’t believe he did this.
He’d just fucked over his best friend. His want to be lover.
Blair was who he wanted so why was he making out with Nina? Better
yet, why did he come so fast thinking of Blair.
Nina rubbed his face to calm him. She could see he was upset. “It’s
okay, Jim. We won’t go any further than that until you know how you
feel about me. “
“I’m sorry, Nina. I’m really sorry. I want to do this but I just
can’t right now.” Jim said sadly.
“Not a problem, Jim. We’ll just go slowly. Don’t you worry about
it, okay?” Nina asked sweetly. He hugged her and said, “Thank you for
understanding.”
Jim walked into her bathroom, cleaned himself off, looked in the mirror and
couldn’t help it. He started crying softly. He knew that this
had just ruined the best thing in his life. He’d wanted to save this
for when he told Blair how he felt and here he was fucking a stranger.
Jim leaned over and splashed water onto his face. Once he felt a little
better he went back out to the living room.
Nina said, “Jim, you look really tired. Why not sleep here. You’re
safe. You can get up and go home whenever you’re ready.” She pulled
Jim’s hand and took him into the bedroom. Jim sat on the bed and Nina
helped him get his clothes off. Once he was down to his tee shirt and
boxers, he stopped her. Nina gave in and then stripped until she was
naked and climbed into bed. Nina took his hand and said, “Could you
help me? I’m still a little heated up from earlier.” Jim allowed her
to take his fingers and slide them inside of her. She was so warm and
wet. “Nina, I think I need to go home.” Jim said, almost begging.
“Nina moved over and got on top of him and his hard on was poking through
the hole of his boxers, she slid her body down until he was inside of her.
“Nina, please. I don’t want to do this. I really don’t want to do this.”
Jim was again begging. Nina put all of her power into this one act.
She said, “Jim, fuck me hard. Fuck me good.”
In the dark, Jim could see but all he could see was Blair. He moved
up inside of Nina, thinking of Blair, calling out his name as he came. It
sounded so nice screaming out, “Chief” when he came. He felt
Nina come around his cock, suddenly realizing what was going on and he panicked.
Shit, I have to talk to Blair about this. Why would I fuck someone
without a condom? My middle name is safety. I need some help
here.
Jim got out of bed, put his clothes on and left. He didn’t say goodbye,
kiss my ass, anything. You lousy fucker. I don’t believe you
did this. You just fucked someone without a condom and had no idea
if she was safe. You didn’t even care. She was a woman, not Blair.
Why did you feel like you were fucking Blair? What the hell's wrong
with you?
Driving home, Jim kept wiping moisture off his face. You fucking
asshole. Cry all you want, it won’t make things any better. You
just used some woman for fucking Blair. None of this makes any sense
at all. You are so royally fucked.
When he got home, he showered and climbed into bed and prayed that this Nina
woman would be safe.
At the end of the evening, sitting in Tara’s living room, Tara asked, “Blair,
did my father ask you about the new project?”
“No, what new project?” Blair asked.
“We have a new find, a new dig and we’d like you to be in charge of it.
Daddy has already okayed it with the CPD. You’re set to go. I
just didn’t know if you knew what you were going to be doing.”
“Holy shit. A new dig. What did they find? Do you know?
And Captain Banks said this was fine?” Blair said in one big breath.
“So far, only some bones, some pottery and some tools and weapons.
We’re going to be very busy for the next few months.” Tara said professionally,
for a change.
“I can’t take off that long from the PD. There's no way. I have
a partner.” Blair said, looking crestfallen.
“Hey, Captain Banks said that he and a Detective Conner would be helping
Detective Ellison while you’re busy with this.” Tara said with a huge smile
on her face. She couldn’t help it, she leaned in and kissed Blair.
Blair kissed her back and said, “We really need to keep this a working relationship,
Tara. I think it would work better.”
“Well, we haven’t started working yet.” Tara said as she moved closer to
Blair and began making out with him urgently. Blair didn’t put up much
of a fight. He needed this release. He hadn’t been with anyone
in months. He’d been trying to get up nerve to talk to Jim but knew
he wouldn’t. Now, it seemed that Jim was seeing someone that might
be serious. Fuck, if he doesn’t want me, then why should I stick
around waiting? This was Blair’s last thought as he lay down on
the sofa and let his cock take over all thought from then on.
Tara got up and pulled Blair with her to the bedroom. She stripped
Blair and herself and pushed him back onto the bed. Before long, she
was on top of him. Blair pulled back and said, “Condoms?” She
slipped one on his cock and then he was inside of her. He closed his
eyes and thought of how great it would feel to make love to a man.
He wouldn’t know that for sure but he’d love to stick his cock up Jim’s ass.
With this thought, Blair lost all control and came screaming, “Jim.”
Tara just watched Blair sleep. He was so damned sweet looking.
Who the fuck was Jim? Why didn’t he tell him he was bi? Maybe
this is something new. You’ll make him get over him in a big hurry.
She fell asleep with nice thoughts of keeping Blair in her clutches.
Blair woke up at 3:00 in the morning, threw his clothes back on and left
without a goodbye. He couldn’t believe what he had done. Jesus,
what if she told Jim that he called out his name while fucking her.
Sandburg, you’re still talking to yourself and you're still a fucked up
mess. Sandburg, you are never fucking her again, do you hear yourself?
When Blair got home, he showered, and climbed into bed and hoped that Jim
didn’t smell her all over him. Geeze, what a tangled web we weave,
Sandburg. Oh goody, still talking to yourself. When do you plan on
stopping?
In the morning, Jim was fixing breakfast when Blair came out of the shower.
“You’ll never guess what Simon and the Commissioner did.” Blair said.
“What?” Jim asked almost timidly. He could tell this wasn’t good news.
“They have a new dig here in Cascade. They found some bones, pottery,
tools and weapons and I’m on the dig. It’s going to be at least two
months long. I’ll be home at night but won’t be at the PD during the
day at all.”
Jim just stood there not knowing what to say. So, he said, “Well, that’s
good news for you. Not for me, I’ll probably have to partner with Conner,
but for you, it’s great.”
“Jim, I really don’t know what to do. I want to be your partner and
can’t be if I take this.” Blair said.
“Chief, don’t be silly. Of course, you’re going to take it. Don’t
worry about it. Okay? “ Jim asked.
“Well, I’d be working with Tara Daniels. She’s in charge of the site.”
Blair said quietly.
“That’s good. Congratulations, Chief. Are you almost ready for
work or do you start on the dig right off?” Jim asked, trying to sound casual
again. This seems to be something you have to do a lot lately, Ellison.
When they got to work, Simon called them into his office. When Blair
and Jim got in, Simon shut the door and said, “Sit down, gentlemen. Sandburg,
did you tell Ellison about the dig yet?”
“Yes, sir. I told him this morning.” Blair said, not looking at Simon
or Jim. He just stared at the floor hoping that he wouldn’t die from
being pulled in two different directions.
Simon noticed the slight problem. “Jim, he had no choice, really.
I’ve partnered you with Conner until Sandburg gets back. She’s familiar
with your senses but I want Blair to fill her in on a few more things before
he starts his new job.”
“Is that all, sir?” Jim said, standing up. Simon could see the sadness
in his detective’s eyes and said, “No, that’s not all. Jim, I need to talk
to you about something.”
Blair got up and said, “Well, I’ll go start our work and meet you out there,
okay, Jim?”
“Yeah, I’ll be right out, Chief.” Jim said and touched Blair’s face for a
split second.
Simon walked over and shut the door and said, “Sit back down, Jim.
I want you to open up to me and tell me what’s wrong.”
“Sir?”
“Don’t you sir, me.” Simon said angrily. “Something's wrong and I want you
to share it with me. I might be able to help you.”
Jim jumped up from his seat and started pacing in front of the window as
he looked out. It’s raining, that’s so fucking perfect.
“Fine, Simon, you asked for it. I’m in love with my fucking partner.
I met this woman that for some reason reminds me of Blair, not looks, just
actions I guess and I ended up being fucked by her last night. No protection.
I’m fucked no matter what way you look at it.”
Simon could see the tremors going through Jim’s body and said, “Have you
talked to Blair about it?”
“No. I can’t. And now he’s sleeping with Tara Daniels.
Like I would jeopardize that.” Jim said.
“How do you know he’s sleeping with Tara Daniels? Oh wait, I don’t
think I want to know.” Simon asked. “Jim, I think you’re being really tough
on yourself and I think the kid might love you, too.”
“Sir, I don’t think so. He loves me as a friend. He thinks I’m
a good cop. He even likes me as a friend but he doesn’t love me in
a sexual way.” Jim said sadly.
“So tell me, how did this person fuck you without your knowledge? Do we need
to bring charges?” Simon asked seriously.
“No, sir. I was willing. I just forgot who I was fucking, that's
all. It’s too hard to explain but I’m never going to fuck her again.
I don’t care if I have to cut my fucking dick off.” Jim said angrily.
“Jim, do you think you’re so above screwing someone?” Simon asked.
“Simon, I wanted Blair. I didn’t want her. It was like I was
drugged or something. It’s so weird.” Jim said.
“Do you think you might have been drugged?” Simon asked.
“No, sir. Like I said, I knew what I was doing.” Jim answered.
“Jim, how would you like some time off?” I could give you a month off.
You have it coming. You could go to the cabin in the woods. What
do you think?” Simon asked.
“I’d take you up on that, sir. I’m a mess. I just feel like I’m
fucking losing it big time. Can I finish up a few things first?”
“Sure. We’ll plan on you leaving in two weeks. How does that
sound? The only one that’ll know where you are will be Sandburg.” Simon said.
“No, sir, I don’t want him to know.” Jim pleaded.
“Jim, I have to in case he needs to reach you. He has to know where
you are. The senses are a major thing to worry about.” Simon said.
“Fine, but don’t tell him until after I leave and just tell him I needed
to get away from Conner, okay?” Jim again pleaded.
“Fine, don’t worry about it. Jim, go get busy and stop by for the key
before you leave.”
“Thank you for understanding, Simon.” Jim said as he walked out of the office.
Blair was watching and smiled when he saw Jim start over to his desk.
Blair was so afraid that Jim was angry. Things looked like they might
work out all right.
Simon walked over to the window, stared out through the rain and wondered
where his two best men had left their brains lately. He was really
starting to worry about both of them. Another classic case of clue
bus avoidance by the lonely and stupid. Simon wasn’t quite sure which
one was more stupid. Either way, they were both lonely. Simon
might have to give them a little push in the right direction. What
were friends for? For the first time in days, Simon found himself
smiling about his two friends.
Jim and Blair got a call for an investigation on a robbery that took most
of the day. Jim was glad of that. He looked over at Blair once
and said, “Chief, it’ll be fine. Don’t worry okay?”
Blair looked back at Jim and with tears in his eyes, said, “I feel like I’m
deserting you, man. I feel really bad, but yet, I want to do it.
I feel like shit.”
Jim pulled Blair into a brief hug. Conner and Brown looked over at
them and wondered what was going on. Conner walked over and said, “Anything
wrong, Sandy?”
“He’s fine.” Jim said.
Blair walked away from both of them. Jim knew that he was close to
tears so he let him go. “Conner, leave him alone for a short time.
He feels bad about going on the dig.”
“Oh poor Sandy. It’s not like he won’t see you anymore. He’s
going to be here every night, right?” Conner said, jabbing Jim in the ribs
like she had the secret to some fun joke.
“Conner, what the hell are you talking about?” Jim asked.
She looked at the look on Jim’s face and said, “Nothing. I don’t know
what I was thinking. I’ll talk to you later.”
Jim Ellison watched Conner walk away from him more confused than ever.
She seemed to know what was going on. How could that be? Jim
didn’t even know what was going on.
As Jim worked, he was also thinking. He had smelled that new woman
all over Blair last night. Why did this bother him so much? It’s
not like they were together. It’s not like they’re even close to being
together. Even if he’d had the nerve to ask Blair about it, he wouldn’t now.
He seemed pretty happy with Tara. Not that I care, fuck Tara and I
don’t mean I want Blair to fuck her. Oh shit, now I’m jealous
of someone I don’t really even know. Someone I really don’t want to
know at all. Hell, I’d like to fucking kick her ass for fucking him last
night, except that I have no room to talk.
Conner and Brown watched Jim as he worked on gathering evidence and saw he
was getting more pissed off by the moment. Brown said, “Do you know
what’s going on with him and Sandburg?”
“Nope, sure don’t.” Conner said ever so innocently. Smiling as she
walked off. She knew damn well that those two were meant for each other.
Now if she could just help the cause.
While Blair was off sitting in the truck waiting for Jim to get back, his
phone rang. Answering he said, “Sandburg.”
“Hi, Sweetie.”
“Mom? What are you doing in town?” Blair asked.
“Well, I didn’t know you were in town or I would have called you sooner.
I’m staying at my apartment. I thought you were on a dig. I saw a friend
of yours today and she said that you’re here.”
“Mom, want to go and have dinner tonight?” Blair asked.
“Honey, I have a date and he’s so special that I don’t want to blow it.
He’s so nice. You’ll really like him.”
“That’s okay, Mom. I’m going to be working on a dig here in town for
the next two months. How long are you going to be here?” Blair asked,
hoping she wasn’t leaving soon. He missed her.
“Well, if I play my cards right, I might not be leaving, Sweetie.” She said
calmly.
“Mom, are you really serious about someone?” Blair asked incredulously.
“Yes, Honey, I am. He’s great. I don’t want to push any of my
family or friends on him until he’s used to me. Then I’ll hit him with the
family.” Naomi said laughing.
“Well, what’s his name? You can tell me that much, right?” Blair asked,
dying to know who this man was in his mom’s life.
“Nope, not until I’m ready to tell you, Sweetie. Promise you’ll wait
to meet him.”
“I promise, Mom. I’m really glad you’re so happy.” Blair said seriously.
“Your friend said that you not only were still in town but you weren’t at
the university any longer. What's happened?”
“Well, it’s a long story, Mom. I really found what I want to do and
do it well. I love it. But I’m also still an Anthropologist first.
I’m excited about the dig coming up. No matter what, I’m a consultant
for the Cascade Police Department.”
There was perfect silence. Blair knew that his mother wouldn’t be happy
to learn of his new life but she’d get over it.
“Sweetie, I’m not upset. Just surprised.” Naomi said. Shocked,
Blair realized that she wasn’t mad. She did just sound shocked.
“Listen, I have to go right now. Can I call you soon?”
“Yeah, Mom. I’ll be home every night. I’m dying to start seeing someone
that I work with but don’t have the nerve. You know, working and dating sometimes
are a bad idea. What do you think?” Blair asked his mom.
“Sweetie, if you want someone bad enough, you make it happen. Go for
the gold. Don’t sit back and settle for bronze. Go for that damn gold.”
Naomi said laughing.
“Mom, I really want to see you tonight. Can the guy wait one more night?”
Blair asked.
“Okay, I guess so.” Naomi said. They made plans for that evening to
meet at their favorite restaurant. Hanging up his cell, he felt better.
He was going to hit Jim up with this dating stuff in the next two weeks.
Now that it was settled in his mind, Blair was more relaxed. He felt
more confident and happier.
Inside the building, Jim’s cell phone rang. Picking it up, he said,
“Ellison.”
“I bet you say that to all your women.” Nina said.
Jim looked around like if someone heard her. “What do you want, Nina?”
“Well, what a really nice way to say hello to me.”
“Sorry, but I’m working and I haven’t got time for this game you’re playing.
What do you want?” Jim asked.
“You know how we were on for dinner for tonight? Well, I need to meet
my son somewhere, so I’m calling it off until tomorrow night. Is that
fine with you?” Nina asked sweetly.
“You have a son?” Jim asked, almost feeling numb.
“Yes, he’s a doctor and I want you to meet him one of these days but right
now, I want to just concentrate on us.” Nina said.
“I can’t come tomorrow night for dinner.” Jim said simply.
“Well, when can you come?” she asked, trying not to sound down about it.
“Nina, I don’t think it’s a good idea to keep seeing each other. It
never should have happened. I’m sorry but I can’t see you again.” Jim
said.
“Jim, please? Tell me what's wrong.” The way that Nina spoke it relaxed
him immediately and he wondered why he was breaking this off.
“Nina, let's give it a couple of days and then I’ll come and see you and
we’ll talk.” Jim finally said.
“Okay, I can live with that. Just don’t dump me without giving me a
good reason. We still might be able to make it work. I love you, Jim.” Nina
said sweetly.
As they talked for about a half an hour, Jim was getting more nervous.
There was something about her. He couldn’t say no to her.
He’d never be able to get away from her. Ever. Shit…
When he got back to the truck, Blair was calm again. He said, “Sorry,
Jim. I didn’t mean to embarrass you while on a case.”
“Chief, you never embarrass me.” Jim said, cuffing him on the back of the
head.
When they got back to the station, Jim said, “I have to go and see Simon.
I’ll see you in a few minutes.”
“Okay, man. I’ll start the paperwork from your notes.” Blair said,
holding out his hand for Jim’s notebook.
Handing his notebook over, Jim walked to Simon’s door and knocked.
Simon looked up and said, “Come on in, Jim.”
“Sir, could I talk to you for a moment?”
“Sure, come in and sit down.” Simon said.
“I was wondering if I could take off early. I need to get out of town.
I need the time away and I’m going to ask you to not tell anyone where I’m
at, please?”
“Jim, I can’t promise but I’ll try to keep your secret between us.
How's that?” Simon answered.
“Thanks, Simon.” Jim said and stood up. “Could I have the key? I want
to head out tonight or the first thing in the morning.”
“Jim, can I ask you what you’re going to tell Sandburg?” Simon wondered aloud.
“I’ll tell him I need some time off by myself, and hopefully, he’ll accept
that. I really need the time off, Simon. I really do.” Jim said.
Simon handed the key to Jim and said, “Make sure and stay safe. And
keep your cell charged. Do you understand? I want a check in
call every week.”
“Understood, Sir. I’ll call every Friday or Saturday. Thanks again,
Simon.” Jim said as he walked out of the office.
As he helped Blair finish the paperwork, Blair’s phone rang. “Sandburg.”
“Hi, Honey, just wondered if you want to go out to eat tonight before you
come and spend the night.” Tara asked.
“Tara, I’m right in the middle of finishing up paperwork. Can
I call you back?” Blair said almost testily. Jim leaned in and whispered,
“Chief, I can finish it.”
He smacked Jim on the shoulder as he said, “I’ll call you when I get home,
okay?”
“Well, why don’t you just come right here? It’s time you have some
things over at the house anyhow.” Tara said.
“Tara, I’ll call you when I get home.”
“Fine, but you better not blow me off, Blair. I mean it.” Tara threatened.
Somehow, Blair knew that her threats were real. He knew that he’d no
longer have a job if she had her way. Fuck…
Blair got up and went to the restroom. While he was washing his
hands, he looked in the mirror and wondered when he’d become such a wuss.
If he was a real man, he’d have told her no and just said, ‘fuck the job’,
but no, not Blair, the wuss, Sandburg. And what was going on with this
fatal attraction thing going on? They’d known each other two days and
she was planning his life. Fuck…
When he came out, Jim was gone. There was a note on his desk.
Chief,
I had to take care of some things at home. I’ll see you
there. If I miss you, there will be a note telling you what’s going
on with me. In fact, don’t worry about anything. Things will
be back to normal soon.”
Your partner,
Jim
Blair got up and walked to Simon’s office and knocked on the door and said,
“Simon, do you know where Jim went?”
“Yeah, but I told him I wouldn’t tell you.” Simon said, trying not to smile.
“Did you tell him you wouldn’t say yes or no to questions I ask?” Blair asked.
“We didn’t discuss that, no.” Simon said smiling.
“So did Jim tell you what was bothering him?”
“I can’t say.” Simon said.
“Okay, that would be a yes. Did he say if I did something to upset him?”
“Cough, cough, cough.” Simon said, shaking his head no.
“Okay, gotcha. Did he plan on staying away for a long time?”
“I can’t say.” Simon said as he shook his head yes.
“How long, Simon?” Blair asked, scared this time and Simon could tell.
“Sandburg, calm down. For a month.”
“A month? Why would he leave his home for a month, Simon? Does he want
privacy with the new woman in his life?”
“No.” Simon said flatly.
“He’s not that into her?” Blair asked.
“Not at all. He’s got his mind and heart on someone else but he works
with that person and was afraid to mention it.”
“Conner, he has a thing for Conner?” Blair said deflated.
“Sandburg, are you often this obtuse? Do I have to lead you to the
bus stop and help you onto the proper bus?” Simon asked.
“Simon, I don’t want to appear stupid but what the hell are you talking about?”
“The clue bus, Sandburg. You and Jim are like walking right by the
stop and never getting on the fucking thing.”
“Holy shit, he’s got a thing for me, doesn’t he? Oh, God. I have
a thing for him, too. What idiots we’ve been.”
“Now what do you plan on doing?” Simon asked casually.
“I’m going to hunt him down and fuck him senseless. That a good enough
description?” Blair said laughing.
“More than I needed to know, Sandburg. So do I have to put you in for time
off, too?” Simon asked.
“Well, my dick isn’t long enough to go to wherever he is, so yeah, time off
would be good.” Blair said laughing again.
“He’s at my cabin but don’t tell anyone else. Understood? I mean that,
no one.” Simon said sternly.
“Got it. I gotta go and pack, Simon. Thanks for being such a
good friend to us both.”
“Get out of here. And drive carefully.” Simon said slamming the door after
Blair’s departure. Things might just work out okay for the two of
them. I can only hope for the best.
When Jim arrived home he packed his bags as quickly as he could. He
needed to get out of there before Blair was on to him. This is just
what he needed. Time away from everyone, including Blair. Jim was so
damn confused. Once he was done packing, he made up a grocery list
to pick up before he started on the trip. Then he sat down to write
Blair a note.
Blair,
I’m sorry for leaving like this. I really had no choice.
I’m confused and just need some time to myself. Everything will be
fine. Please don’t worry about me. I’ll be back in a month.
You’ll be very busy with the new dig. Enjoy it. I’ll call you
once a week to see how you’re doing. All right? Talk to you soon.
Jim
As Jim closed and locked the door, he felt a pang of sadness hit him.
He missed him already and they weren’t even separated yet. Ellison,
you're fucking pathetic. You’re going to have a long talk with yourself on
the drive up to the cabin. In addition, once there, you’re going to figure
out what's wrong with you.
Blair came running into the loft, and saw the note and knew that he was too
late. He read the note and said, “Ellison, you prick. You didn’t
even put, Love, Jim. What kind of a note is this anyhow?
Blair put the note in his room and got cleaned up for his dinner with his
mom. He’d leave first thing in the morning to see Jim. They’d
settle things one way or another. Blair looked in the mirror and saw
a happy man. It was the first time he’d smiled in a long time.
Jim had a thing for him. Who would have thunk? Maybe he’d
leave tonight so that he could get up there and take care of things.
Driving to the restaurant, Blair decided that he would leave tonight but
he wasn’t going to tell anyone that he was going.
As he walked into the restaurant, Blair realized he was very excited about
seeing his mom. It had been some time since he last saw her.
She didn’t come to Cascade too often but kept a place of her own for when
she was here. For once, Blair was glad of that. Now she was talking
about settling down with Mr. Right. What was up with that?
Blair walked in the front door of the restaurant and heard, “Sweetie, you
look wonderful.” A smile lit up both of their faces. Naomi just kept
hugging him and hugging him. “I missed you so much, Blair honey.”
“I missed you too, Mom.” Blair said as he continued to hug his Mom.
They sat them in a booth. Naomi listened and Blair filled her in on his life
in the last year. It had been a long time since they had talked. Both
of them did such a good job with the gift of gab that everyone around them
even was in a better mood. Naomi and Blair could do that for a person.
Little did either of them know that there was someone watching from outside
the establishment. Tara watched every time Naomi touched her Blair.
She wasn’t going to stand for it. She’d find out where this woman lived
and put a stop to it. She just had to sit and wait for them to finish dinner.
I hope that Blair isn't going to sleep with this older woman. Tara
was sickened at the thought of her Blair sleeping with anyone but her.
Naomi filled Blair in on how long she’d been there and what she had planned
for the next month or so.
“So when do I get to meet the man of your dreams?” Blair asked smiling.
“Soon, sweetheart, soon.” Naomi answered.
The night flew by. They enjoyed each other’s company and before Blair
knew it, it was time for him to take off. He was already tired and
needed to get up to that cabin. He paid the tab and he and his mother walked
outside. He walked her to her car.
“Sweetie, when will I see you next?” Naomi asked.
“I’ll give you a call, Mom. I’ve got some things to take care of.”
Blair said as he hugged and kissed her.
In her car, Tara watched Blair and Naomi interact and decided that Blair
wasn’t leaving with her so it was safe. She could follow Naomi and
find out what she wanted with her Blair.
As Naomi drove off, a car followed her closely. When Naomi got to her
apartment, she parked and got out. Heading into the complex, she felt
like someone was watching her or following her and turned around. There
was a young woman standing there staring at her sadly. Naomi turned
and walked over to the woman and said, “Is something wrong? Could I help
in any way?”
“You could start with staying away from my boyfriend.” Tara spat out.
“Blair's your boyfriend? Are you the girl he works with?” Naomi
asked sweetly.
“Why he’s with you is beyond me.” Tara said angrily.
Naomi started laughing which made Tara even more furious. “Why are you laughing
at me?” Tara asked getting ready to pull all of Naomi’s hair out.
“Because, Darling, there's no reason to be jealous. I’m Naomi Sandburg
and he’s my son.” Naomi watched as the woman thought that over and then became
less tense.
“So Blair told you about me?” Tara asked.
“He didn’t say your name, just said that he wanted to have a relationship
with someone he worked with. I put two and two together.” Naomi said.
“Could I come in and talk with you for awhile? I feel terrible for
thinking the awful thoughts about you a few moments ago.” Tara asked.
“Sure, come on up and we’ll make some plans to go somewhere together.
I want my son to meet the new man I’m dating, too.” Naomi said as they walked
through the door.
Naomi instantly liked this girl. She knew that Blair would be very
happy. It’s nice to find out that your son has done a good job in choosing.
She suddenly felt like letting Jim meet Blair soon. She knew that they’d
get along. Who wouldn’t like Blair? He was perfect.
Across town, Blair was packing to leave for his trip. He had done some
before he went to dinner and now he was just finishing up. Blair picked his
phone up and called Tara.
“Hey, Tara, sorry to leave you a message but I wanted to let you know I’m
going to be gone for a month. Some things came up and I must get away.
I’ll be gone from the station house, too. I’ll talk to you when I get back.
Thanks for the chance. Hope you find someone to cover on such short
notice. Bye.”
As Blair hung up the phone he was feeling a small twinge of guilt.
However, it was very small. It was a great job offer but Jim was more
important. If he had to choose, Jim would win every time.
As he loaded his things in the car, he was grinning like a fool and didn’t
care. He was off to romance Jim. Blair was not obtuse; he knew
that he was going to have to romance him like he’d never been romanced.
Jim was stubborn. Blair was more stubborn.
Slamming down the trunk lid, he got in, started his car and was off to start
his new job. Hell, it wasn’t a job; it was a fucking adventure.
Driving down the highway his cell went off and he answered, “Sandburg.”
“Blair, where do you think you're going? And how dare you leave a message
on my answering machine? I want to see you right now.” Tara demanded.
“Well, tough. Tara, I don’t like the way you took over the relationship
and pushed me around. I won’t have myself bullied into something by
anyone. I’ll talk to you in month.” Blair said, trying to be calm.
“You're going to be so fucking sorry, Blair. I’m going to ruin your
career at the station. They’ll all know what a loser you are.” Tara
screamed.
Blair did something that he’d never done before, he hung up on Tara.
Pulling over along side the road he put a block on her number. She
wouldn’t be able to call him again. No sir, no one's going to get
in the way of romancing Jim. No one. Once done, he pulled
back into traffic and was back to his original plan.
Tara came out of Naomi’s bedroom and said, “Do you know where Blair went
for a month?”
“Don’t be silly. I just saw him tonight. He would have told me
he was leaving for a month.” Naomi said, innocently, but on the verge of
wondering if, as usual, she missed something.
“Well, I just talked to him. He left a message on my answering machine
and said he gave the job up. Then he said he’d be gone for a month
taking care of personal business.” Tara said, while pacing.
“Tara, calm down. Maybe something's going on with his roommate.
Do you know him?” Naomi asked.
“Well, I met him once last month at the station but no I don’t really know
him. Why does he live with him anyhow?” Tara asked, genuinely intrigued.
“I don’t know, Dear. I haven’t met him yet. Maybe we should call him
and see what he says. Do you know his name?” Naomi asked.
“Yeah, it’s Jim Ellison. He’s a detective at the precinct. Big
guy but seems nice.” Tara added.
“Oh, he’s very nice. That’s who I’m seeing. I didn’t know he
lived with my son. This is getting stranger by the moment. I’ll
call Jim right now and straighten this out.” Naomi said nervously.
Shit, why didn’t he tell me who he lived with. This could make things
more difficult.
Naomi called and got no answer at the loft, then she called Blair’s cell
phone and when Blair answered, she said, “Sweetie, I have to tell you something.”
“What, Mom? Don’t tell me... Tara tracked you down and wants you to
talk some sense into me, right?” Blair asked angrily.
“Well, actually, she followed me home from the restaurant and I told her
I’d find out why you felt the need to leave for a month.”
“Mom, it’s none of your business. Is that all you had to tell me?” Blair
asked.
“Honey, you know the man I told you about? The one I said I’m in love
with? He’s your roommate. I had no idea. He never told
me about you.” Naomi said in a rush.
“Oh, you have to be fucking kidding.” Blair said with disgust.
“Blair, does anyone work with Jim have the name of Chief?”
“Yeah, Naomi, why?” Blair asked.
“Because he seems to be stuck on that person. When we made love, he
kept saying her name.”
“Naomi, Chief's a guy. I don’t fucking believe this. I’ll talk to you
in a month, Mom.” And for the second time in his life, he hung up on someone.
Fuck…Fuck…Fuck…
Blair drove a little faster hoping he figure out something on the way.
Now what are you going to do, Sandburg? Your mom's fucking the man
you want to fuck. Shit, that’s almost like incest or something.
Wait a minute, Jim didn’t know about her being his mom. So, Jim won’t
have to know right away. Speaking of that, why is it, Jim slept with her
so easily? Jim didn’t usually go after someone without a record.
Blair let out a harsh laugh and wondered when he’d totally lost control
of everything. Shit…Shit…Shit…
Blair picked his cell phone up and called his mom back and heard her say,
“Hi, Sweetheart. I’m glad you called me back.”
“Mom, Jim told me he was dating someone named Nina. Why wouldn’t he
know your name? Please tell me you didn’t do anything stupid. I need to know
why my roommate seems to have lost control of his senses or something.” Blair
said with a tinge of panic to his voice.
“Blair, honey, he couldn’t help himself. He would try to fight the
urge but for some reason he just couldn’t do it. It made me feel so
good that I had that type of control over him.” Naomi said laughing. “The
reason I went by Nina is I had some trouble with the law years ago, so I
go by two different names. Nina Sands is my second name. Isn’t that
a hoot, Blair?”
“Mom, it’s not fucking funny. This is serious. How did he act
when you screwed him?”
“Blair, sweetie, I don’t want to tell you all of that.”
“Tough, talk to me and now.” Blair ordered. “I can’t believe you slept with
my roommate.”
“Honey, you know I didn’t know he was your roommate. I had no idea.
He kept telling me he didn’t want to do anything, but yet, when I would touch
him, he would like just leave his body.”
“This didn’t worry, you? That Jim wasn’t totally with it. You
just kept up seducing him? God, Mom, this is the worst thing you’ve
ever done in your life.”
“Honey, get a grip. Why are you so upset about this? Don’t you
like the idea of us sleeping together?”
“No, I don’t. I fucking hate it, Mom. And I’ll talk to you about
that when I get back.”
“Speaking of your roommate, do you know where he is?”
“No, so don’t even bother asking again.” Blair blurted out as he hung up
on her for the second time tonight.
Tara watching her said, “What’s wrong?”
“I have no idea but I didn’t understand one thing he was talking about.
He seemed to be upset about me sleeping with his roommate.” Naomi said. “If
I didn’t know better, I’d say he was jealous of Jim.”
“Oh shit.” Tara said.
“What is it? Tell me.” Naomi demanded.
“When we were making love the other night... when he came he screamed Jim.
Jesus, he’s a fag?” Tara said.
“No, Sweetheart, he’s not gay. He’s just confused. No wonder
Jim was so worried lately. He probably has to worry about the hero
worship thing. I’m sure that’s all it is.” Naomi said.
“You think?” Tara asked hopefully.
“I’m sure. In fact, let's go to the station tomorrow and see Jim and
we’ll find out if he knows what’s going on. Then we’ll plan from there. It’s
late. Why don’t you just stay here tonight?” Naomi asked.
“Thanks, I think I will.” Tara said, gratefully taking the sleep shirt that
Naomi handed to her and went into the bathroom to get ready for bed.
Jim left the confines of the cabin and started to walk in the woods.
He needed to think. As he walked, he thought of everything he’d done
in the last few days. Well, you slept with a complete stranger with
no condom. It doesn’t get much worse than that, Ellison.
He continued walking and decided he would talk aloud so that he would feel
like there was someone there to give him advice.
“Oh goody, Ellison. Now you’re not only talking to yourself, but think
you can give yourself advice. Now what the fuck do you do with this
mess you’ve created?”
Laughing harshly, he walked further into the woods hoping for some large
animal to attack him and put him out of his misery. “That's just so
you, Ellison. Don’t want to deal with something? Then just wish
it away. Even if it’s by death or something like it.”
Jim stopped for a moment when he saw where he was. God, you’re so
busy feeling sorry for yourself that you didn’t even notice the gorgeous
scenery here. It’s enough to astound me.
“So, Ellison, what do you do about this woman? She’s nice and everything
but for some reason she reminds you of Blair. Why's that? Why
couldn’t you have gotten up enough nerve to ask questions of your guide?
He would have been able to help you figure this out. But, no.
You had to chicken out. God, you’re a gutless wonder.”
Jim came to a clearing that was gorgeous. He sat down on a tree trunk
and just stared up at the sky to see if he could count the stars. That
would keep his mind off the mess.
“You don’t get to keep your mind off of anything, Ellison. You’re going
to try and figure out what's going on. For some reason when you’re with Nina,
you relax, as you do with Blair. Why's that? Come on, think.”
He got up from the stump and started pacing again not knowing what he thought
anymore.
“Ellison, do you suppose that she's related to Blair in some way? What would
happen if she was a guide. She was able to talk you out of that zone
one night. Oh fuck… I’m fucked either way.”
Jim headed back to the cabin. He had no answers...only questions.
As usual, he was lost without his guide. The only thing he did know
was he was in love with Blair.
When he got to the cabin, he started making something to eat. He hadn’t
been eating that well lately. Confusion did that to him. He quickly
made up scrambled eggs and toast with jam. Hey, he could have breakfast
anytime. He was on fucking vacation.
Driving down the road, Blair started getting so damn tired that he almost
fell asleep behind the wheel. He knew that he was a danger to everyone
on the road, including himself, so he pulled into a motel and got a room.
He’d see Jim in the morning. Then he would be fresh from a good night's
sleep. Yup, things would be just fine.
Jim was showering before bed when he heard his cell phone go off.
Who would know I’m here? You twit, it’s a cell phone. As long
as there's service, they can find you anywhere.
Stepping out of the shower, he answered, “Ellison.”
“Jim, I’m so glad I caught you. Where are you? I’ve been trying
you at the loft, with no results.” Nina said.
“Nina?” Jim asked confused.
“Well, who did you think it would be? Another woman?” Nina said laughing.
“No, but I’m on vacation and didn’t want to be disturbed. I’ll call
you when I get back. I’m sorry, Nina, but I can’t see you anymore.” Jim said
and then hung up the phone.
His cell phone kept ringing and it was Nina. So he didn’t pick it up.
He just let it ring. Too bad you didn’t pay more attention when
Blair showed you how to block numbers from calling you.
He shut his cell phone off and put it in the charger. At least if he
wanted to use it, it would be there.
When he climbed into bed, he was hard. All he could think about was
Blair. Get a grip, Ellison. Good idea. He gripped
his cock and started stroking himself off in record time. He didn’t
want it to be fun, he wanted to go to sleep. But the face in his mind
was Blair and the name in the room, whispered by Jim, was Blair.
Little did Jim know that down the road, in a run down motel, was his partner
doing the very same thing, whispering out Jim when he came. Oh, the
life of the lonely and stupid. Thankfully, there would be a clue bus
coming soon.
Jim actually slept well which surprised him. When he got up, he made
coffee and breakfast and then just sat there thinking. If Blair
were here he would laugh telling him to stop working without tools.
Jim laughed out loud thinking about the wonderful sense of humor his guide
has.
Simon came walking into the bullpen and Megan Conner followed him into the
office and asked, “So, sir, where's Jim? He’s my partner for the next
two months. He didn’t show today.” Megan said.
“I’m sorry, Conner. I forgot to tell you. You’re going to be working
a lot with me. Jim'll be back in a month.”
“Sir, where is he? In case I have to ask him something about the case
we had started.” Conner asked.
“Well, I’m going to give you his cell phone number but only call if you are
desperate. Do you understand?” Simon asked.
“Where is he, Captain and is he all right?” Conner asked, very seriously.
“He’s fine. He’s staying at my cabin for a month. Blair went up last
night, I think, to talk things out with him.” Simon said, smiling to himself.
“Playing matchmaker, sir?” Conner asked laughing.
“Conner, you knew about them, too?”
“Well, if someone doesn’t see that those two are in love, they’d have to
be blind, or blond.” Conner said, laughing hard at her little joke.
“You’ll keep this to yourself, right?” Simon asked.
“But of course, sir. I’ll get to work on that case we started.” Conner
said walking out of the office smiling.
She had been working on the case for about two hours when in walked two women.
They walked over to Conner and said, “Could you tell us where Detective Ellison
is?” Naomi said.
“And you would be?” Conner asked.
“I’m dating Jim and I need to get a hold of him. It’s an emergency.
I was hoping I wouldn’t need to take this to his Captain.” she said.
“Why would Captain Banks care about what you have to say about Jim?” Conner
asked.
“I was hoping that you’d help us. Do you see this nice young woman
here?” Naomi said, pointing at Tara.
“What about her?”
“She’s dating your police consultant and she needs to see him right away.
For some reason, we think they might be off on a case. We really need
to find them.” Naomi said.
Conner looked at both women and almost laughed. She thought it might
be interesting to find out what happens. “I really can’t talk about
where they are but I could take you there. Or, you could follow me.”
Conner said evilly.
“Oh thank you, Officer?” Naomi asked.
“Detective Conner, ma’am.”
“Well, when do you think you’ll be leaving?” Naomi asked.
“I have to clear it with my boss. Hold on please.” Megan said as she
headed for Simon’s office.
“Come in, Conner.” Simon yelled.
“Sir, you won’t believe this. Guess who those two women are?”
“Do you really want me to guess or are you going to just tell me and put
me out of my misery?” Simon asked laughing.
“Fine, don’t guess. The taller one's Jim’s date and the short little
cute one's Sandburg’s date. They both think they’re serious about them.”
“Holy shit.” Simon said, staring at the women.
“Anyhow, I don’t know about you, sir, but I want them to be together, so
I figured I’d lead them up to your cabin. Could I have directions?”
“Conner, why would you take them up there?”
“Because, sir, when they catch Blair and Jim up there together, they’ll have
to see that they don’t have a chance. I’ll be sure to check them for
weapons first.” Conner had to laugh at this point.
“Conner, this might be a good idea. I’m not certain I like the idea
of taking them up there. It’s my cabin, what if they break everything
in their path?” Simon asked, trying not to laugh.
“I’ll see to it that they behave, sir. Could you write down directions?”
“I’ll bring them out to you in a few minutes. It takes about two hours
to get there. Pack a lunch.” Simon said, laughing hard by this time.
“Conner, remind me to never piss you off.”
“Thank you kindly, sir.” Conner said as she left his office.
“Good news, ladies. I found out where they are. It’s going to
take about two hours to get there, so pick up supplies and fill up your tanks.
We’ll meet out in front of the station in about 30 minutes.” Conner said,
trying not to laugh.
“Okay, we’ll do that, Detective. We’ll see you in 30 minutes.” Tara said.
“Oh, just call me Megan.”
“See you soon, Megan.” Naomi said.
Simon walked over to her desk as the women walked off and he said, “So, is
it on?”
“Yup. This is going to be good. Do you happen to have a camcorder handy?”
“Very funny, Conner. Now just make sure and finish up this file before
you leave.” Simon said, trying to sound like a real boss instead of the teacher
of kindergartners.
When Conner walked out of station, Naomi and Tara were waiting for her. “Okay,
ladies, just follow me. “
They all got into their cars and drove down the road. My god, it’s
a fucking parade, Megan thought to herself as she laughed.
Oh god, this is going to be such fun.
Jim having had breakfast and lounging as long as he could, stripped and got
in the shower. The first thing he thought of was Blair, making him
grow hard. Ellison, keep your mind off of sex. Jesus, you
need to really get a date and get over him.
Jim’s cock wasn’t listening to a word Jim said or thought. Instead, if nothing
else, it was getting harder. Finally, Jim had to jerk himself off just
so he’d not die from want. The whole time, he pictured Blair’s mouth
around his cock instead of his own hand. He came as soon as the picture
of Blair’s warm mouth around his pulsing cock came into view.
Once he was dressed, he walked outside and decided that he’d go for a walk
in the woods. He had been there only about ten minutes when he heard
his guide calling to him. Shit, Ellison, now you’re hearing his
voice along with your own. This is great. You’ve completely lost
it.
Then Jim heard it again, “Jim, where are you?” Jim figuring something was
wrong started running back to the cabin. He got there and Blair was
unhurt and standing there smiling.
“Chief, what are you doing here?”
“Way to make me feel welcome, Jim.” Blair said, continuing to smile.
“I thought I told you in the note that I wanted to be alone. Chief,
that means, as in me and me alone.”
“I know what alone means, Jim, but you didn’t mean it.”
“What the hell are you talking about, Chief?”
“Jim, have you ever wondered why we’re still living together?”
“No, not really. I like having you around. I figured you liked
being there.”
“I do like being there and I’m glad you like having me around, but I think
it’s more than that.” Blair said, walking closer to Jim. With each step,
Jim would back up one more. Blair knew he was going to have his hands full.
“Chief, I really need this time away. I need to be alone.” Jim almost
begged.
“You don’t want to be alone, do you? I mean, really alone?”
As Blair got closer, he could see Jim trembling and it wasn’t from the chill
in the air because it was beautiful out. The kind of weather the Sentinel
loved. Blair touched Jim’s chest and Jim let out a very sad sound.
Blair continued to get closer and said, “Jim, what are you afraid of?”
“Rejection.” Jim answered, without any thought at all.
“You won’t get rejection from me.” Blair said as he pulled Jim’s face down
and kissed him. Jim stepped back quickly and said, “What are you doing?”
“I’m going for the gold. My mom told me to go after what I want.
I said I wanted you and she said to go for you.” Blair said smiling.
“You want me?”
“Jim, are you always this slow or is it the thin air up here?” Blair said,
pulling Jim into his arms.
“Chief, you’re dating someone new. How could you want me?”
“Jim, I don’t even like Tara Daniels. She’s a bore and I fell for her
because of the new woman you were seeing.”
“Well, that would make us both stupid then. I couldn’t stay with her
because I couldn’t get you off my mind.”
“Jim, I need to tell you something and I don’t want you to freak. Do
you promise?”
“Chief, I’m freaking already. What’s wrong?” Jim said nervously.
“You know that new woman you were dating, Nina?”
Jim shook his head yes and Blair went on, “well, she’s my mom.”
“Oh fuck…” Jim said as he pulled away from Blair quickly and started rushing
into the cabin.
“Jim, I asked you to not freak. You’re freaking. This is freaking.”
Blair said, trying to rub Jim’s back to calm him down.
“I slept with your mother, Blair. Jesus, this is a new low, even for
me.” Jim said, totally disgusted with himself. “Chief, there's nothing
you can say or do that will make this one better. Shit…” Jim said,
trying to get away from his guide. “I knew that there was something
about her that was so familiar. I kept thinking about you when I was
with her.”
“Jim, you probably smelled my scent on her. Hell, you probably heard
the same type of heartbeat. No doubt it freaked you out and you had
no control.” Blair said, as if this happened every day.
“God, I can’t believe this. I just can’t believe my fucking luck.”
Jim said, pacing as he talked. “Why was her name Nina when I was dating her?”
“Because she dated a drug dealer some years ago and thought the cops were
looking for her. She liked you so much that she used that old name.
She just didn’t understand your and my arrangement.”
“Shit, I don’t understand.” Jim said, beginning to panic.
“Jim, everything's going to be fine. First of all, we’ll talk to everyone
involved when we get back and tell them we’re an item.”
“Chief, do you not see this is wrong? I slept with your mom.”
“Well, I sure wish you wouldn’t tell me about it repeatedly. I think
we should just move on.”
“This is something you just move on with, eh?” Jim asked sarcastically.
Blair decided to let actions speak louder than words and kissed Jim again.
This time Jim didn’t fight him. He opened his mouth and let Blair gain
access to anything he wanted. Blair knew that he’d be able to do anything
he wanted with this man.
“Come on, tough stuff, I want you. I want to show you what it’s like
to love someone and show them.” Blair said.
Grabbing Jim’s hand, Blair pulled him into the bedroom where Jim saw Blair’s
suitcase sitting. Jim smiled when he saw it. Blair knew he had him.
Blair started undressing Jim until Jim said, “Chief, maybe we should talk
some more about this?”
“Maybe we shouldn’t. Maybe we should just go with what we want and
feel. For a change, let's not try to talk something to death.” Blair
said trying to stay calm.
“Hey, that’s my line, Chief.” Jim said, smiling.
“Yes, it is, but today it’s both of our lines. Now where were we?”
Blair said as he continued to undress Jim. Once Jim was naked, Blair
pushed him back onto the bed. Blair then walked over to his bag and
pulled out condoms and lube. Jim was so glad Blair couldn’t hear
his heartbeat. Jim was scared to death. What the fuck was happening?
“Jim, calm down. I’m here for you. We’ll take it slow but I like
to be prepared... just in case.” Blair said, smiling at Jim.
Blair took his clothes off and Jim smiled as he watched him. Both men
were sporting large wood. Jim said, “Now I know why I like the woods.”
Blair jumped on the bed laughing and kissed Jim repeatedly. “Man, I love
you.”
Jim melted into a big old pile of goo. Oh Ellison, you have it bad.
“I love you, Chief.”
Blair started kissing down Jim’s chest, taking his time, kissing every single
inch of his man. When he got to Jim’s navel, Jim was moaning, “Someone
has a sensitive stomach?”
“Shit, Chief, I’m sensitive everywhere.”
Blair licked Jim’s cock making Jim jerk almost off the bed. Blair pushed
Jim’s hips back into the bed and continued licking, concentrating on the
slit. That seemed to be driving Jim nuts. Oh man, this guy
tastes good. You’re going to love this, Sandburg.
Blair started sucking on Jim’s cock until he felt Jim grow larger and knew
he was on the verge of coming. “Jim, I’d really like to fuck you.
Are you down with that?”
“Yeah.” Jim said, trying to sound casual.
“Jim, you ever done this before?”
“Nope.”
“I’ll make it good for you, baby. I’ll make you beg for my cock.”
“Blair, I’d beg now.” Jim said seriously.
Laughing, Blair got the lube, put it on a finger and started stretching Jim.
Again, Jim tensed up, but soon he loosened up and let Blair’s finger in.
When Blair pulled it out, Jim complained of the loss. Blair put two
fingers in and Jim tried to stay calm. Ellison, if this hurts, how's
he going to get his cock in there? It’s huge.
Blair continued to ready his love. When he got three fingers in, and
stretched him as well as he could, Blair went after Jim’s prostate.
When he hit it, Jim screamed out his pleasure.
“Holy shit, Batman, you like that?” Blair asked.
“Oh yeah, Robin, you’re doing wonders for this old batman.”
Blair hit the prostate again and Jim said, “Chief, I’m going to come soon.
Fuck me. Fuck me now.”
“I told you that you’d be begging. Was I wrong?” Blair said as he laughed
evilly, put a condom on and added more lube. Then he pressed his cock into
the tight opening and Jim felt like he was going to be split open but the
pain was soon gone. Blair was so patient. As he pushed in more,
he pulled Jim’s legs up around his waist and they got comfortable.
Blair wanted to fuck him a long time but knew, that as horny as they both
were, it wasn’t going to last long.
“Baby, fuck me hard.” Jim said suddenly.
Blair didn’t need to be told twice. He pounded into Jim not taking
it easy as he had planned. Instead, he fucked him so hard that they
would probably both be sore tomorrow. “You feel so good, Jim.
I love how tight you are. You’re making me almost come from just seeing
you like this.”
“Blair, if you talk I’m going to lose it right away.” Jim said seriously.
“You're a beautiful man. Has anyone ever told you that, Jim?
I love watching you. I love fucking you. I love you.”
Jim screamed Blair’s name and came hard. Blair followed him about two
minutes later. He hung on as long as he could. When Blair’s cock
started shrinking, he pulled out. Leaning over, he pulled a box of
wipes up to the bed and cleaned them both up. Jim pulled him into his
arms once he was done and said, “I love you so much, Chief.”
“I love you back, Jim. I’ll love you forever. No one will come
in between us.”
They both fell asleep, not aware of the visitors on their way to the cabin.
Jim was sleeping so soundly that he wouldn’t have heard anyone. It
was one of the first times he’d slept without a weird dream.
When Conner drove up and saw Jim and Blair’s truck and car, she knew that
this was going to be fun. Both of the women pulled up next to her and
they all got out. Conner walked up to the front door and just walked
in. There was no one in the living room or kitchen. Conner turned
to the two women and said, “Maybe you should check the bedroom. They
might still be sleeping.”
Naomi and Tara opened up the bedroom door and found a very naked Jim and
Blair sleeping together. Jim opened up his eyes and saw the two women
and said, “Shit…”
Blair woke up when he heard Jim and looked at what Jim was looking at. “Fuck…”
Blair said as calmly as he could.
“Mom, what're you doing here?”
“I could ask you the very same question. I told you how much Jim meant
to me and you slept with him anyhow?” Naomi asked.
Conner came into the doorway and said, “Guys, you might need this.” She bent
down, picked up the comforter and covered them up with it.
“Thanks.” Blair said to her smiling.
“You are a fucking fag.” Tara said angrily.
“Tara, let me talk to you. Would you let me get dressed?” Blair asked.
“Why? You’re still going to be a fag. I can’t believe I fell
for you. You're slime. In fact, you’re lower than slime.” Tara said
angrily.
“Jim, what do you have to say for yourself?” Naomi asked.
“Naomi, I’ll talk to you when I’m dressed. Could you all please leave
the room, except for Conner. We need to ask her something.” Jim spat
out.
The two women walked out and Jim sat up and said, “Conner, why did you bring
those two women here? You act like you did it on purpose.”
“So what if I did?”
“Conner, why would you do that?” Jim asked.
“Because they both thought they owned you two and anyone in their right mind
knows you belong to each other.” Megan said hurriedly.
“Does Simon know you’re here?” Jim asked.
“Yeah, he gave me directions.” Megan said, quite pleased with herself. “I
have to call and give him an update in a few minutes.”
Blair couldn’t help it, he started to laugh. Jim looked at him like
he had lost it and said, “Chief, is there something funny that I missed?”
“Jim, those women are ready to kill us but our co-worker thinks it’s cool
for us to be lovers. You gotta love this.” Blair said, still laughing.
“Well, laughing boy, get out there and explain to your mom why I’m not with
her anymore.” Jim spat out.
Conner got between the two naked men and said, “You might want to get dressed
first and don’t pick on each other. That’s what they want.”
Both men threw their clothes on and walked out into the living room.
Tara was standing by the door. Blair whispered, “Mine might go easier
than yours.” Jim cuffed him on the back of the head as they went in to talk.
“Well Tara, I told you I was interested in someone else. From the very
beginning I told you that. Then I talked to my mom and she told me
not to fool around with the bronze, to go for the gold. So I did.
I’m sorry you just didn’t make the cut.” Jim cuffed him on the back of the
head again. Blair seemed to be enjoying this.
“You’re fucking comparing me to this fag slut?” she asked Blair.
“Well, yes. He might be a fag slut, but Jesus, he’s damn good at it.”
Blair said and then ducked when Jim went to smack on his head again.
Tara turned to Naomi and said, “What are you going to do? I mean, I
can’t date a fag.”
“First of all, he’s not a fag, I told you that. He’s confused. Jim’s
not a fag either.” Naomi said.
“Excuse me,” Conner said interrupting, “I really hate the way the word fag
is getting flung around. So what if they’re gay? Who cares? No
one at the department does.”
“Blair, you have a choice right now. You either come with me or stay
here and everyone will know about you.” Tara demanded.
“As tempting as that sounds, Tara, I’m sticking with the fag. I really
like those fag things he does to me.” Blair said very sarcastically.
Jim was ready to knock Blair down by this time. With your luck Ellison,
it would probably just turn you on.
Blair smiled at Jim and Jim’s heart about melted.
“Well, you won’t be saying that when no one talks to you or your partner
at the station from this day on. Think of Jim being out there alone
with no backup.” Tara said.
“Get the fuck out, Tara. If you want to spread it around, fine.
But don’t threaten Jim in any way. First of all, I’m telling everyone
that the reason I went to you was because you thought it would be cool and
hot.” Blair said nastily.
“Oh, you wouldn’t dare. You little fuck. I can’t believe you’re
doing this.” Tara said angrily.
“I can tell you from experience, this man is not a little fuck.” Jim said,
starting to laugh. Blair couldn’t help it. He started laughing,
too.
“You’ll both be sorry. I’m warning you.” Tara said as she stormed out the
door, followed by Conner. Conner walked up to her and asked, “Ever
been to jail?”
“No, of course not, why?”
“Because you just threatened the life of two officers and I have every right
to arrest you. You might want to think about what you’re going to do.”
Conner said calmly.
“Fine. Stick by your fags but someone's going to notice them and I
won’t have to worry about it anymore.” Tara said, getting into her car and
speeding out of the driveway. Conner just smiled to herself as she
thought about what an idiot this girl was.
Walking back into the cabin, she heard Naomi say, “Well, I won’t be as easy
as that, Jim. You know you felt something for me. You even told
me you didn’t understand it but you could feel something between us.”
“Yes, and I didn’t understand it. I don’t want you, Naomi. I
really don’t. I want to be with Blair. I’ve never wanted anyone
as much as I do him.”
“Jim, don’t you think that you owe me one evening of talk and dinner?” Naomi
asked.
Blair jumped up and said, “No way.”
“Chief, I really feel like I do owe her that. It’ll be all right.
I know what I’m doing now.” Jim said, calming Blair down.
“Fine, as long as I get to go along.” Blair said firmly.
Jim looked to Naomi and said, “Is that all right?”
“No! Blair, honey. You can wait in the truck or somewhere but I need
to talk to him privately.” Naomi said.
“Mom, you’re not getting him. Give up now. Let him be happy.”
Blair almost begged his mom.
“See, this is why I need to talk to him. You’re still not sure of yourself
and Jim.” Naomi said and Blair wanted to smack her upside the head.
“Naomi, you're full of shit. You make me want to puke sometimes.
I’ll wait outside, but I kid you not, you’ll lose your son if you make a
move on him.” Blair said as he sat down.
“Blair, you don’t mean that. What if we were meant to be together?”
Naomi asked.
Conner stood there and wondered who the bigger ditz was, Naomi or Tara.
She walked into the bedroom and called Simon. He needed that update
and knew he’d get a charge out of the whole thing.
“Conner, I think you should stick with Sandburg and keep him calm. I don’t
want him doing something to his own mom.” Simon said.
“Sure. I can do that. I’ll see you tomorrow.” Conner said closing her
cell phone.
Jim walked in and said, “You call Simon about all of your friends sleeping
together?” he asked in a hurt tone.
“No, just special ones that I knew he’d be happy to hear about.” Megan said,
smiling at Jim.
“You and Simon both knew about us?” Jim asked.
“Duh. Everyone knew but you two. Honestly, we thought we were
going to have to start doing something. This was so much easier.” Conner
said laughing.
“Conner, I fucked his mom.” Jim said as he leaned against the wall.
Conner stood next to him and said, “Jim, first of all, you didn’t know.
Secondly, he loves you so much. You deserve love as much as anyone
else does. Don’t you give up on him.”
“Okay. Thanks for being a good friend.” Jim said, hugging Conner.
“Don’t let it get around though. I have a reputation to uphold.” Conner
said as they both walked out of the bedroom laughing.
They both stopped when they saw Naomi sitting there without Blair.
“Where's Blair?” Jim asked. He listened but couldn’t detect his
heartbeat at all.
“He said he’d see you at home. He needed to think.” Naomi said smiling.
“He wanted you and I to have some time together.”
“Naomi, did it ever occur to you that I don’t want to be with you?” Jim asked
angrily.
“Jim, you didn’t say that a few nights ago.”
“Well, things have changed and I don’t want to be with you. I don’t
want you. I don’t need you. You don’t have any control over me
now.” Jim said flatly.
“Oh, you think not?” Naomi asked as she walked over to him and started to
kiss him. He didn’t kiss her back. She started rubbing her body
against him and he didn’t get hard at all. In fact, he was so turned
off it wasn’t even funny. “You still owe me that talk and dinner.
I want to know why you went so easily into my bed and now won’t go near it.”
I owe you that much and I will tell you when we get back to Cascade.
Right now, I have to find Blair.” Jim said.
He picked up his cell and dialed Blair’s number. Blair answered, “Sandburg.”
“Sandburg, get your ass back here. We have a vacation. I told
your mom I’d talk to her when we got back to Cascade.”
“Jim, I think maybe you need some time to think about all of this.” Blair
said sadly.
“No time to think needed. I didn’t bring my tools. He’s on the
road heading away from me.” Jim said laughing.
“Okay, you talked me into it. I’ll be back in a few minutes.” Blair
said happily.
Jim turned to Naomi and said, “I hate to be mean but could you please leave.
Blair and I have many things to talk about and you’re not invited or included
in any of them.” Jim said sternly.
“Fine, I’ll talk to you when you get back.” Naomi said, walking out the door.
As she was driving away, Jim turned to Conner and said, “Thanks, Conner.
Not for bringing them here but for standing behind us.”
“No problem. I guess I should get back to work.” Conner said as she
headed out to her car. Blair drove up as she was getting into hers.
She stood back up and said, “Well, I have to say goodbye to Blair.”
“I knew we wouldn’t get rid of you that easily.” Jim said laughing.
He watched his love get out of his car and followed him with his eyes all
the way over to Conner.
“Conner, do you have any idea how awful this was for you to do?” Blair asked.
“Of course I do. But you two weren’t getting the clue bus and we all
took a vote and decided that you might need some pushy drivers. That
way you’d get on for sure.” Conner said, with a huge smile on her face.
“You are all behind us?” Blair asked nervously. “Why?”
“Why are we behind our friends? God, Sandy, you're really dense sometimes.”
Conner said.
Jim walked towards Blair with a look in his eyes that made Blair get hard
instantly. Blair turned to Conner and said, “Well, have a safe trip
back to the city. We’ll see you in a week, or two, or three.”
Laughing, Conner walked to her car and got in. “Bye, Guys. Take
care of each other and I’ll see you soon.”
“Bye, Conner. Tell Simon we’ll be back in a week.” Jim said.
“A week? I’m only good for a week?” Blair asked as Jim started chasing
him into the cabin. Megan Conner watched from her car and laughed all
the way back to the highway. Those two men belonged together more than
anyone she knew. God I hope to find someone like that some day.
Once inside, Jim pulled Blair into his arms and said, “First of all, we can
stay as long as you want. I’m yours for however long you’ll have me.”
“Jim, I want you forever. I just meant, here, at the cabin. You nut
job, you.” Blair said, laughing.
“Nut job? I’ll show you nut job.” Jim said as he started taking Blair’s
clothes off. He began kissing his body with such tenderness; the kind
that makes a person think they are very special. Even when they feel
like they might not be.
“Blair, do you have any idea how much you mean to me?” Jim asked in between
kisses.
“I’m starting to get it, I think. I find it odd that you’d be that crazy
over a short, hairy jewish guy.” Blair said, trying to make a joke out of
it.
Jim stopped kissing him, looked him in the eyes and said, “You mean more
to me than anything in the world. I don’t care what you are.
It makes no difference to me. I actually think that the short, hairy
jewish guy thing you have going might be what I was looking for.”
“Jim, you sound like you’re insane. You were looking for a short, hairy,
jewish guy?” Blair asked, smiling.
“Yeah, I might have been. I happen to like hair. I like your
hair. I like you. I love you.” Jim said as he started kissing
his way down Blair’s body again.
“Oh man, you're quite the sweet talker, aren’t you?” Blair asked.
“Shit, Chief, if you think that's sweet talking I need to treat you better
from now on.” Jim said as he licked Blair’s cock.
“God, you’re really good at this. Why's that?” Blair asked, looking
down at Jim.
Jim smiled up at him and said, “I love your taste. Who would have thunk?
You probably won’t get to fuck me much because I’m going to be busy sucking
on your cock all the time.”
“Oh man, what will I do?” Blair said laughing and then beginning to moan
as Jim started sucking with a lack of inhibition.
When Blair got right to the edge, Jim sucked even harder and Blair came screaming,
“Jim.”
Jim looked up at the dazed Blair and smiled with such love that Blair fell
even harder. God, he’s such a romantic. He loves to look at
me, touch me and talk. Who would have thought Jim would be a talker.
Jim moved back up to Blair and started kissing Blair’s lips. Jim loved
those lips. They were so fucking kissable. Ellison, is that
a damn word? Kissable? I doubt it but it had better be.
When people look it up, it will have a picture of Blair’s lips.
“Jim, would you like to make love to me now?” Blair asked with his
eyes looking sexier than they ever had before. Then he licked his lips
and Jim almost came from watching him.
“I would love to make love to you, Blair. Let me calm down first or
I’ll come just watching you lick your lips.” Jim said, kissing him again.
Pulling back from Jim, he smiled and said, “This drives you wild?” Licking
his lips, Jim kissed him even harder and he could feel Jim’s want, need and
desire. Blair decided to calm him down a bit. Blair wanted to
be fucked today.
Blair leaned over and got a condom and the lube. Handing them to Jim,
he said, “Okay, hot shot, I want to be fucked and I want to be fucked good.”
Growling, Jim, started preparing Blair just as Blair had prepared him.
Once he was done, he said, “Are you sure about this, Blair?”
“What’s with this Blair stuff? What happened to Chief?” Blair said,
licking his lips in a teasing fashion.
“Chief, I’m going to make this good for you. Soooooooo good.
When we’re done, you won’t want me to ever pull out. We’ll want to
stay together forever.”
“Jim, we’ll be together forever. Just not physically.” Blair opened
up his mouth and said, “Fuck my mouth, too.”
Jim started pushing into Blair and felt the resistance. “It’ll be better
in a few minutes, baby. Give me a minute.”
“I’ll give you as long as you need, Blair.”
Blair looked at Jim and thought, God, I love when he calls
me Blair. It sounds twice as sexy as when anyone else does.
“Give me more, Jim. I can take it now.” Blair begged.
Jim pushed in and got about halfway in and Blair was panting by this time
saying, “Jim, come on, I can take it. I want it hard. I want
it now. Fuck me good.”
Jim couldn’t hold back any longer, Blair’s voice did him in. He pushed
all the way into Blair and started a steady rhythm. Blair loved ever
moment of it. He was moaning and sobbing with need. He needed
to come.
“Jim, I need to come, now.” Blair begged.
“Blair, this is so fucking good. I could fuck you all day long.
Geeze, you feel so fucking good. Please let me take my time.”
“Jim, fuck me hard and fuck me good, right now.” Blair begged again.
Jim started pounding into Blair’s ass not even thinking, he was letting the
damn small head do the thinking. He could have hurt Blair but, right
this moment, all he could think about was how great it felt to be inside
of Blair.
Blair stroked his cock a few times and each time, Jim’s cock hit his prostate,
Blair would howl. Finally, after a few moments, he couldn’t hold out
any longer. Blair came screaming Jim’s name out again.
Jim tried not to put all his weight on top of Blair but he was getting more
tired by the moment. He started pulling his cock out and Blair made
a noise that sounded painful.
“Jesus, Blair, did I hurt you?”
“No, baby, you made me hurt good.” Blair said, smiling and pulling Jim down
on top of him.
“You’re not answering me... did I hurt you?” Jim asked, scared to hear the
answer.
Jim, are you afraid you made me bleed or something? Not going to happen.
You were too careful. Stop worrying, hot stuff. Now get your body next
to mine so we can rest.”
“Geeze, you’re a bossy little shit.”
“Who are you calling a ‘little’ shit?” Blair asked.
As he kissed Blair he whispered, “Well, we know it’s not you.”
Blair got the wipes and cleaned them up and they fell into a deep sleep.
Jim had him in his arms and Blair couldn’t have moved out of his embrace
if he wanted to. It worked out well because Blair didn’t ever want
to leave this spot. Sandburg, you have it bad. You have to
stay in control in case it backfires on you.
Jim woke up about two hours later, and looked at a wide awake Blair. “You
think I’m going to leave you for your mom, don’t you?” Jim asked.
“Maybe.”
“I’m not, baby. I’ll never leave you. I'd do almost anything
for you, but leaving you's not one of them.” Jim said, kissing Blair.
“Man, we need to take a shower. Come on, big shot.”
“Blair, what's with all of these nicknames you’ve been calling me all night
long?”
“What’s the matter, big guy, you don’t like them?” Blair said, smiling.
“I don’t mind. I just don’t know if you’re using them in a good way
or bad way.” Jim said with a look of total confusion on his face.
“Jim, only you would worry about a nickname being a good or bad thing while
making love. Believe me, everything we do is good when making love.
If I call you hot stuff, it’s cuz you’re hot. If I call you stud muffin,
it’s just because I always think of those great muffins you make on Sunday
mornings. Well, anyhow, do you get the picture?”
Jim stood there with his mouth hanging open. “You thought about me
being a stud muffin while I was serving you those poor innocent muffins every
Sunday?”
“You bet your sweet, cute, hot ass.” Blair said, smacking said ass and running
for the shower.
Jim ran to catch him and found Blair letting himself be caught.
Ellison, this is one person you can’t ever let get away. He’s a true
catch and you have to keep things perfect so he won’t ever leave you. Okay,
we both have issues here. We’ll work on them.
After their shower, they worked side by side in the kitchen making dinner
and Blair asked, “Jim?”
“Yeah?” Jim answered, kissing Blair on the tip of the nose, again with such
tenderness that it brought tears to Blair’s eyes.
“What would you think if I said I wanted to go back to Cascade tomorrow?”
“I’d say you must be nuts.” Jim said laughing and then realized that Blair
was serious. “What’s up, Chief?”
“I want to get this thing over with. The whole Naomi thing's about
to drive me nuts.”
“If you want to go home tomorrow, then we’ll go home. You know I’d
do anything for you.” Jim said, kissing him again.
“Cool, then let's have a really hot night here and take off first thing tomorrow.
Sound good to you?” Blair asked.
“Sounds perfect to me, well, at least the hot night part does.” Jim said,
laughing.
Dinner was unusually quiet. Blair knew that Jim was probably thinking
about tomorrow as much as he was. This whole thing was a big fucking
mess. But he was a firm believer in getting things out in the open
and taking care of them right away.
Jim started talking about a case that they both were working on and said,
“Actually, it would be nice to get back and try and figure that case out.
I hate to leave them unsolved. Not that I don’t think anyone else could
but I wanted to do it.”
“I know what you mean, man. It’ll be nice to get back to the grind.”
They sat down and listened to music and before long, they were making out
on the sofa. After about ten minutes, Jim said, “Chief, I feel like
a teenager. We don’t need to neck on the sofa, we have a bedroom we
can use.”
“Well I, for one, think that it’s really cool making out in the living room.
So, I vote for staying here for awhile.”
So stay they did. Before long, neither of them could think anymore.
Blair finally said, “Jim, now could we go to that bedroom you were talking
about?”
“Yup.” Jim said as he jumped up and drug Blair behind him. I wonder
if it’ll always be like this. Wanting him so fucking much? Will
he always want me this way? God, I hope so.
“Jim, stop thinking about things that could go wrong. You’ve got that
look on your face.” Blair said as he started stripping Jim.
“Chief, what would you say if I asked you to just hold me tonight?
Seriously, just hold me, no sex at all.”
“I would say you’re nuts but who am I to throw stones? I’m nuts, too.
I’ll gladly hold you all night long. I love you man.”
“I love you, Chief.” Jim said as he crawled into Blair’s arms and let him
hold him for once. Jim was usually the one that did the holding; he
liked being held. This was nice.
Both men slept all night long without bad dreams. It was almost like
they both knew that their days coming up were going to be taxing. They
needed all the sleep they could get.
As they packed in the morning, Blair kept watching Jim closely.
Jim finally said, “Knock it off, Chief. I’m not going to sleep with
your mom. I’m going to talk to her and tell her she doesn’t do a fucking
thing for me. Unless she gets shorter, gets hairier or grows a pecker, I’m
not interested.”
Blair smacked Jim’s ass as he walked by. “Very funny, Jim. I’m
just worried. You have no idea how persuasive she is. I just want you to
be warned.”
Once their cars were loaded up and the cabin was clean, they kissed each
other goodbye and got in their cars. Jim was sad for most of the drive
home. He really wanted that time alone with Blair but he also understood
that Blair was scared of losing him. He could relate to that.
When they got to the loft, they unloaded everything and started putting things
away.
Blair was in his room and Jim called from the bedroom, “Chief, could you
come here a minute?”
Blair walked up the stairs and saw Jim cleaning out half of his dresser and
he said, “Whatcha doing, man?”
“I’m making room for your stuff. We can’t have your things downstairs
when you’re up here. Right?” Jim asked.
Blair ran and jumped into Jim’s arms and Jim fell back onto the bed.
Blair was smaller than he was but he was no lightweight. “Chief?
Did you think I wasn’t going to ask you to move into my room?”
“Well, we didn’t talk about it. I didn’t want to assume anything. God,
I love you, baby.”
Jim had planned to clean up his room and make it into their room but now
he needed to show Blair just how it felt to be fucked in their bed.
And show him, he did.
Jim got up sore the next morning. More sore than he’d ever been in his life.
Jesus, he’s going to kill me. What a fan-fucking-tastic way to go.
Jim had planned on calling Naomi and making some plans for the next
couple of days, but once Blair got Jim up in their bedroom, he didn’t let
him out. Not that Jim was complaining. No, not Jim Ellison.
He’d never felt so fucking loved in his entire life. Blair made him
feel like he had never felt before.
Jim wondered if Blair was putting off the phone call. He had wanted
to get it over with but now seemed to be dragging his feet. Jim knew
that Blair was scared. So was he. God, this had to work out.
It just had to.
Jim got into the shower letting the hot water hit him and it seemed to help.
He wasn’t going to let Blair know that he was sore. Blair would feel
bad and Jim wouldn’t let that happen today. They had enough things
to worry about.
After his shower, he was looking in the mirror as he shaved and wondered
if he looked any different to anyone else. He looked like just plain
old Jim Ellison to him. He now wondered if someone else would see more
than Jim did. Last week, he had never been fucked. Now he’s not only
being fucked, but loving every minute of it. Jim looked up into the face
in the mirror, saw the smile, and knew in his heart that this was how his
life was going to be.
He went into the kitchen and started coffee and some breakfast. Soon,
he heard Blair mumbling something and watched as his love came down the stairs
with that just fucked look. Jim walked towards him and Blair said,
“Not now, Jim. Let me brush my teeth. God, what the hell did
we eat?”
“Just me, Chief. Are you saying you don’t like the aftertaste?” Jim
asked cheerfully.
“Oh fuck you. Why are you so fucking happy this early in the morning?”
Blair grumbled.
“I’m happy because you fucked me senseless and I don’t know any better.”
Jim said in a very sarcastic tone.
Blair looked over at him and then went to him and pulled him down and said,
“Fuck the bad breath.” Blair kissed Jim hard. Pulling away he said,
“Jesus, you’re going to be the death of me.”
“Chief, I was telling myself the very same thing this morning.”
“Well, at least we’ll both die happy, right?” Blair asked, heading into the
bathroom.
“Oh yeah, very happy.”
When Jim heard the shower come on, he picked the phone up, and called Naomi
to make a date for that evening to talk with her. Jim didn’t want to
chance it at her place. They were meeting in a restaurant. Naomi didn’t
like it but it was that or nothing. She accepted and said she’d meet him
there.
When Blair came out, he sat down and Jim served him breakfast and coffee.
“Hmmm. Jim, this is good. Thank you. I needed to be refilled.”
Jim leaned down and kissed Blair and said, “You’re welcome, baby. I
love you.”
“Man, you called Naomi didn’t you?”
“I did call her but what has that got to do with what I just said?” Jim asked,
confused.
You have that look in your eye. It’s almost a look of fear. I
know you’re afraid, Jim. I know that you can’t fight off these urges.
God, I hate that.” Blair said, looking down at his food, not at Jim at all.
“Blair, I was drawn to her because of you. I wanted you. Not
her. I tried to fight her off but I couldn’t because I kept seeing,
hearing and smelling you. Now, I won’t have to worry about that.
Don’t worry, baby. I do love you.”
“Jim, I never doubted the fact that you loved me. I just doubted that
you’d stay with me once she came into the picture again.” Blair said sadly.
“Why would you think that, baby? Tell me.” Jim said, trying to remain
calm and not knocking Blair upside the head like he felt like doing.
“Jim, she’s full of energy, life, love and beauty. I always had problems
with guys that were my friends. When Naomi came into the room, I no
longer existed. I got used to it after awhile but that didn’t mean
I liked it.”
“I don’t know how to tell you this, Chief, but you’re exactly like her.
That’s what drew me to her. That inner glow was something I thought
you alone had. How wrong could a person be? However, your beauty,
love, energy and love are what I want. No one else’s. Please
believe me, Blair.”
“I do believe that you believe that. I just hope that it doesn’t blow
up in our face.”
Jim pulled him into his arms and said, “Want me to wait a few days for this
meeting?”
“Hell, no. I want it over with.” Blair said, getting up and starting
the dishes.
“Want to go back to work soon or you want to have some time off?” Jim asked.
“Call Simon and ask him. That will make him feel like he’s really in
charge.” Blair said, giggling to himself.
“Sandburg, you’re a shit. You do know that, right?”
“Of course I know that. But I’m your shit, right?” Blair asked, batting his
eyes at Jim.
“You had better be or I’m having a hard time sitting for the wrong reason.”
Jim said, laughing.
“Jim, did I hurt you?” Blair asked quickly.
“Shit, Chief, I was joking. I’m sorry, it wasn’t a funny joke.” Jim said,
trying to make things better.
Blair rubbed Jim’s back and then moved his hand over Jim’s ass and Jim moaned
into Blair’s neck. Then Blair moved his hand down to Jim’s hole and
rubbed it and Jim jumped.
“You lied. I did hurt you.” Blair said with such hurt and anger in
his voice it hurt Jim just to listen and watch.
“Chief, calm down. First of all, this happens I’m sure when someone
gets fucked three times in one night.” Jim said.
“God, Jim, why did you let me do that to you three times? What are
you... nuts?”
“Well, I think you were calling me a nut job earlier, weren’t you?” Jim said,
trying to make a joke.
“It’s not fucking funny. What if something's hurt. What if I
tore you?” Blair asked.
“Blair, breathe deeply. I checked myself this morning; I’m fine.
I’m just sore. Stop worrying.”
“Why did you let me do that? See, I never even thought about what might
happen.” Blair said, working himself into a panic.
“Blair, I loved it so much that if you got me in the mood, I’d be up for
it again. I love when you do it. I think the term you called
me last night was, ‘you bottom loving slut boy’. Does any of this ring
a bell?”
“Oh god, I wish the ground would open up and just swallow me now.” Blair
said, sitting down and putting his face in his hands.
“Why does it bother you? I don’t understand?” Jim asked, in all honesty.
“I can’t believe I said that to you. God, I let things go to my head.
I thought I was so cool being able to fuck you more than once. Moreover,
I hurt you. Why in the world would you love me?”
“Because you love me. Because you worry about things like this.
Because you’re a beautiful person, inside and out. I love you, baby.”
Jim said, hoping to offset Blair’s panic attack that was imminent.
Blair went into Jim’s arms and softly cried. “I’m sorry, Jim. I’m really
sorry. I don’t know why I said that last night.”
“Chief, you don’t seem to be getting it. I love when you fuck me.
Therefore, I am a bottom boy slut. There's no joke there. I’m
yours for the taking. I hope that you’ll be taking me often.”
“God, Jim, I love you so much. I love you more than you’ll ever know.”
Blair said, holding on to Jim for dear life. Jim knew that he was scared
about the upcoming meeting with Naomi.
“Chief, I always felt that there was something missing in my life.
Now I know what it was. It was love. You were fucking it for
me. I loved it. I want it all the time. Promise me that
you’ll always love me the way you love me right now.”
“No problem, Jim. I’ll love your forever. I don’t have a problem
with that. Not one bit.” Blair pulled Jim over to the sofa.
“Baby, I have to get ready to go soon. You have to let me do this.
I promise I won’t hurt you. I would never hurt you.” Jim said as he
kissed Blair softly.
“I believe you, Jim. I trust you. I just don’t trust her.
Isn’t that terrible? She’s mad at me for stealing you from her, but
she has no idea that we were together way before she was in the picture.
She’ll never understand, but I do.”
“We belong together. We’ll always be together. It’s the way things should
be. I feel good about them. Nothing's going to happen, baby.”
Jim reassured Blair.
They lay together on the sofa until Blair fell asleep. Jim knew he
was tired from all of that hard work the night before. He would need
that sleep. Jim got up, got ready to go and walked out the door.
He left a note on the fridge for Blair.
Blair,
Baby, don’t worry. I’ll be back soon. I made you some
dinner; just heat it up. It’s in the blue container. I should be back
by about ten. I love you. (If I’m not back by ten, send out the
troops, please?)
Yours forever,
Jim
