Education Student Achievements |
Jenny Zhao, now fourteen, has been studying the piano since she was nine. During these years Jenny has won numerous awards including those at the annual Kiwanis Music Festivals and the Laurentian Junior Music Club where she won an award and a scholarship at the senior level. She was also honoured to be invited to play at her graduation ceremony from Carleton Heights Public School this past year. Jenny has just been notified that she has been awarded this year's Silvel Medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music for receiving the highest mark in Ontario for the Grade Seven piano examination. The letter from the Conservatory mentioned that "Your achievement is outstanding and we wish you every success in your future musical endeavours." Currently a grade nine student at Canterbury High School, Jenny, her parents, and her teacher, Mrs. Mary Orrs, will travel to Toronto for the presentation ceremony. The HBN would like to join all her friends and classmates
in congratulating Jenny for this fine achievement. |
