I am a "Mom" as my number one profession! Seth is 17 years old - so I have very little time left to plant in him what I must. He is a Prince among men and I am not suffering in the least - the way I caused my parents grief. I have not reaped that field yet, and certainly I am living in the mercy of that truth. I would like to say that "poetic justice" was truly served on my plate. After living a total wild crazy life in school as a ticked off teenager on account of my family suffering divorce (some kids just don't handle that well; I was one of 'em), and in constant trouble ... I ended up leaving Illinois shortly after graduation... let's not forget to mention that I was pregnant. And everybody and their uncle tried to talk me into having an abortion and getting on with college.
Anyway, I ran off to North Carolina to live with my sister, Shelley. If any of you knew her, she is an unforgettable social electric shock yet, a loving soul. If you knew her and forgot her, you are dead and don't know it. She helped me stand up. I had a very intense spiritual encounter shortly after Seth was born (*if you wanna know about it...just ask, I am not ashamed nor bashful about it) and when it was over, I stood up and no longer cared to get in trouble anymore nor was anything the same. Even life and colors looked different to me. Miracles are still alive and well on planet earth! I ended up working with teen addicts and youth groups in Christian churches and to this day I still work along side of teenagers daily and work a summer camp program at a Retreat Center where my home is located. Ya know a kid in trouble? Send 'em my way. I have lived in every biosphere of our great Nation from ME, to NY, to IL, to NC, to AR, to NJ, to AZ, to OK, for the cause of ministry, and currently I live in the middle of a forest in Rural North Carolina once more, where it all began. If you get out a map of North Carolina and just pop your finger in the middle of the state - you found me. I tend to cows, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, my dumb bird, Socrates, that won't ever shut up, and gardening & healing herbs have become my pastimes. I also do massage therapy... had to find something to calm my jets. |
