| "Socks is known as the infamous, "please cuddle me bird" And has yet to figure out that birds are not suppose to behave that way. He is a Gophin Cockatoo, and gets off on stealing pacifyers from sucking infants. He makes messes just to prove he can. He is 6 years old and will live to be 75 -100 if he don't get sick. He was purchased because we needed a baby without really having a "real" one. |

| Socrates is a boy. At least he better be ... else I have corrupted him with a sexual identity crisis. I've been calling him a "he" since birth. He prefers to be with people, but mostly me. |
| He is named Socrates, because at the time we got him, I was in college and writing a paper on Aristotle and Socrates. And decide that I liked what Socrates had to say. |
| Socks likes to sleep under my sheets and follow me around the house or sitting at the bay window looking out at the other birds. |
| He is beautiful and has the sweetest voice - except when he is yelling or demanding anything. |
| He answers to anything you wanna call him. He knows when someone is talking to him. |
| Socks lives in his own pad in my house. His home is off limits to any mammal except humans. Although a cat or two have visited. |

| - To watch Action flicks, but not alone. - To eat rice, noodles, or macaroni-n-cheese. or whatever else is on OUR plates. - To talk almost always, and likes to YELL in the morning - Bathing in the steam of my morning shower from the shower rod perch. And when it is warm out, he likes to bath in a large glass salad bowl on the porch. -- He loves to sing along with Delilah Love Songs on her radio program. - and he likes looking at pictures of people he knows. And still says "aaron" often. |

| UPDATE: 2001 ~ I just added another exotic bird to my family. His name is ROCKY. He says, "Rock n Roll" when he wants to hear music., Yells way more then Socks is even capable of. He is an Umbrella Cockatoo, two times larger then Socks but just as friendly. His vocabulary is five to six times more advanced then Socks and ya just may hear, "Whose the man" from time to time. His normal jargon consists of talking like R2-D2 in a listen to me sort of way. |
