QUILTING AND CRAFTS
I don't remember just when I became interested in quilting, but it was a few years before I retired from my job and my time was limited.  Since then, I've probably been at it for about ten years.  The first quilt I made was a quilt top which was made by a friend's mother and sister-in-law and I put it together and tied it.  The next two or three, I tried my hand at quilting, but found out early on that that part of making quilts just wasn't for me.  I love piecing quilts, but have them machine quilted by a lady who does a professional looking job and we have become close friends over the years.

I never had any quiltmaking lessons and learned only by reading and asking questions.  I'll have to admit that my first attempts were pretty sorry and it's only recently that I feel that they're something to be a little proud of.  Most of them I have given to my children.  On another page, I'll be showing pictures of some of them.  Since I'm not very artistic, I feel that making quilts is my one way of doing something artistic.

There are several sites on the internet which have free patterns.  I mainly use a couple of them and will posts links to them below.  One of them, Quilters Cache, also has tutorials on how to make them.

I will also post some links to craft sites since many of my friends are crafty and I love to see their work.  Hopefully, I can display photos of some of their work, too.
