haven't been able to get through. Meanwhile, I notice
he hasn't been burning up the phone lines trying to
call me.

Of the two of us, I'd say I'm the one who is serious
about getting this deal done. If you want to play
around like a little baby, tell me now so I can cancel
my plane tickets. (ah... throwing it back into their lap.  At this point I was still wondering if he really had compatriots in South Africa.  He really can't weasel out of having Thambo contact me at this point)

I do not personally know Thambo.I only got his contact from the 
Minister who has instructed him to help us complete the transfer. (in other words, a manager higher up the food chain has coordinated a scam between two of his cells.  Victor is in a bit of a bind at this point, since he is on the hook if the whole deal washes out)
