After graduation I continued working at Blums and attending church regularly. Even went to Newark Bible School evening classes. I took the Personal Evangelism class on how to win others to Christ. Having gone to church all my life and knowing that Christ died for my sins, I had never till that point accepted Him as my Savior. So, in the summer of 1947, walking to the bus after work I asked Christ to come into my heart. How many people are saved walking to the bus?

For about a year I attended Beulah Church across the river from Newark, in Kearny (later the First Evangelical Free Church). Then returned to Park Avenue Baptist in Newark. I was now the Sunday School teacher of the girls I used to have in my old sewing class. Since the church was so small I was the girls teacher from the time they were about 10 right up to through their high school years. Also had charge of the Young Peoples group and had my activities with the girls. My cousin, Marlene, was one of the girls, and Judy, who later became a Missionary, was also in my class.

at Harvey Cedars About this time I heard about Harvey Cedars Bible Conference. Went every weekend and every vacation from 1948 to 1956. My brothers even worked on the staff for a few summers. Made many friends and just loved the place. One year even brought my Sunday school class down for a week. I should say I bought my first car in 1953. Driving has never been on of my favorite things. But I drove the girls down to Harvey Cedars, about a one and half hour drive. The car overheated so I parked on the side of the road. Lo and behold the deep tire marks in the mud were filled with water. Judy found a paper cup. With it we put water from the puddles into the radiator. We were able to drive until we got to a gas station to put water in the radiator. That was also the week I took the girls to Loveladies, a nearby town, to see the new model homes. For some reason Judy washed her feet in one of the the bathrooms. Talk about being embarrassed, me not Judy. I was ready to die if anyone caught us.
