| Sportsman Gun & Pawn is an independently owned and family-operated pawn shop. The owner, D. C. Cockerham, is a retired North Carolina Highway Patrolman of 26 years. During that time, he served as the firearms instructor for the patrol. His knowledge and expertise span many categories. D. C. has collected coins, guns, and knives for most of his life. After retirement, D. C. entered the gun business part time before opening his pawn shop. | |

Rosa Cockerham is the owner's oldest daughter and general manager of the store. Rosa followed in her father's footsteps and served as a police officer for 10 years in eastern North Carolina. She then began working with her father when he decided to open a pawn shop. Rosa has become very knowlegeable in firarms in her own right and is a trained and certified Glock armorer. She recertifies every three years at Glock seminars at the annual Shot Show. She also serves as the resident gold jewelry and gemstone expert for the store.
