Song= Girl

To the Teen page!

We hope that this will help you will get to know us, at least a little bit.

  Please understand that this is a work in progress, and we will be adding more information to it as we go along.

  Martha is the youngest of the teens at 13 years of age. The first thing someone may notice about her is the distinctive British accent. She constantly listens to the Beatles, whether she's "out" or not, because every song the Beatles ever did is stored in Martha's memory, and the songs play constantly in her "room" or space. We believe that her name came from Paul McCartney's song "Martha", which was the name of his Old English Sheepdog.
  Now, as to why Martha came to be? Our theory is thus:
  The Beatles defined the 60's and Jan was only 8 years old when they first became popular in the states. Jan's older sister became an avid Beatle fan, which made everything about them and their music available to Jan in a way not experienced by most of the kids her age. To Jan, the Beatles were it...the all...of the 60's and rock music, and so, a very important, enjoyable part of her childhood. Jan was around 14 years old when the Beatles called it quits and broke up as a group. This so affected Jan that Martha was created to hold on to them as they were.
  Jan still loves the Beatles, and has passed that love on to her own children.

  Julia is 14 years old and is a very strong, personality. She is pretty unconcerned with what is going on within the family, unless it involves herself or Squirt. Our Dr. believes that Squirt is an alter of Julia's. That would certainly explain her involvement w/him. Julia is very open with her feelings, and can be a bit mouthy sometimes.
  Why is Julia? When she first spoke to Jan's husband she told him that she wanted a dad. Not just a normal "want", but an almost all consuming longing that haunted her to her soul. Jan's husband has filled most of those longings for Julia, becoming a male figure that she can look up to with respect and no fear that he will ever let her down in any way. There has never been such a figure before in Jan's life.
  And why Julia? We believe that the answer to her name can also be found in the title of a Beatle song. John Lennon wrote a song for his mother entitled, "Julia", and anyone knowing John's background should know of his own longing for the presence of an absent parent. (In John's case both his parents were gone, but his real longing was for his mother.)

  Patty age, 16 and Johanna, age 15, are next in age. We are putting them together here because we believe that Johanna is a "shadow" of Patty's. Johanna is seldom "heard" from anymore, and is one of the next in line for integration.
  Patty is another strong personality, and frequently dominates the time spent "out". But Patty is a worker in this family. She is helping two others, Elizabeth and Angel, on the integration of some of the weaker, helpless alters. (You can meet Angel on the Others page.) Patty is a loving and patient person who cares for not only all the alters, but for Jan as well.
  Why is Patty? We don't know where the name came from. As for the person, the story is this: Jan quit school at 15 and because the law required her to be 16, she went out of state to stay with her father's girlfriend's family, so that no one would get in trouble over it. (She was good friends with the woman's daughter.) A month after she turned 16 she decided to go back home to live with her mother. When she and her father were saying goodbye at the airport she says that, for the first in her life, she saw him cry. It shook her up in a strong way due to the past non-relationship she had w/him. Jan never dreamed that she would never see him again; he died in an accident at work 5 months later.
  Patty is the result of the guilt and pain that was unbearable for Jan after learning of her father's death.

  Elizabeth is the oldest of the teens at 19. She is similar to what Jan was like after her first marriage was over. Jan's first husband was mentally abusive, and so Elizabeth's opinion of men is pretty low. Only through Jan's husband is she slowly learning that there are good men that deserve respect. Elizabeth keeps a finger in all the pies in the family. With the help of Patty and Angel she has counseled many alters into integration. She often deals with our Dr. when he wants an update as to how things are going with the family.
  Obviously, she came about due to the abuse of Jan's ex-husband, but, as with Patty, we don't know where she got her name.

Love and God Bless!
