We saw this old fishing camp from the water and just had to check it out.
I don't know the name of the place. I will try to find out next time I go there. This is the kind of place that just dissappears. Turns into housing developments, trailer parks, or condos. I had to take some pictures of it.
We were welcomed by this lovely shell wreath hanging on the old love oak tree. Below is a close up of the wreath. It was as if someone had left it there just for us to see and take a picture of it.
The porch here is like stepping back in time with the old Coke sign over the door and the old rockers. I think there are still people using this fishing camp. I would love to sit on this porch and hear the stories they have to tell.
After our boat ride we returned to Shellman Bluff. We had rented a room in the motel for the night. We decided to extend our trip and take the boat down to explore the Everglades. We had been intrigued with the "lock" at the everglades many years before. We figured we may never get the chance to have things set up so well, with the truck to pull the boat, and the boat set up to camp on. So, in the morning, off to the Everglades.
