Best Shoot Em up Game

Quake III Arena, Medal of Honor:Allied Assault (dont forget Spearhead Expansion Pack) - £20 for Quake III Arena, £30 for Medal of honor:Allied Assault and £20 for Expansion Pack.

Quake III Arena is perfect for those who dont care baout the plot and just want to shoot da shit outta each other. Hours of fun, plenty of fun characters to choose from and easy to play. Shoot as many people as you can. PS2 version Quake Revolution is similar but the controls being a standard controller are not as flexible. Overall, a timeless classic, cheap and more than cheerful alternative to Unreal Tournament

Medal of Honor:Allied Assault is a really good WWII shoot em up. This one however requires thinking and being alert. You also get to fly planes, drive tanks and you get the famous Ohama Beach level except really early. The PS2 version Frontline is just as good but with rather tricky controls. The levels are purely shoot em up on PS2. If you already own Allied Assault make sure you get the Spearhead expansion pack. PS2 gamers might want to look out for the new title called Rising Sun which recreates the attack on Pearl Harbor. With Network Play it allows you to take advantage of the PS2's new network card. Best Driving Game

Midtown Madness 2 and 3 - £10 for Midtown Madness 2 £44 for Midtown Madness 3

This is a pure laugh. Midtown Madness 2 on the PC is a tad old but you get to race around London and San Fransico city. The landmarks are well captured but there are doubts about the way the town is structured. The Metropolitan Police are named the London Patrol and the London Undgeround Train goes out the way it came in! The background cars are not exactly proper models and they seem to be easy to knock. Instead of a massive smashing sound they mearly float along the road. The cars in which you drive are very acurate models considering that the game was made in the year 2000 where graphics technology was poor. Look in the Cool & Useful stuff section for patches that fix graphics problems in Midtown Madness 2 and enable it to work in Windows XP. Also download some extra cars to add into the game.

In Midtown Madness 3 though the actual cars are much better and you get options for changing the weather and season. The two cities in version three are also Washington DC and Paris. The really crap thing is that Midtown Madness 3 is only on Xbox.

Best Sound Card and Speakers -

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Inspire 6700 6.1 - £99 each.

If your PC audio is rather sub standard then you need this Audigy 2 soundcard to give it a lift. This sound card can reproduce 6.1 audio and many DVD sountracks which are encoded with surround sound. Music sounds with this card as well as you can catalogue your MP3s, add environmental surround sound effects to the them, remove noise from crackyl Mp3s andspeed them up or slow them down without changing the pitch. And when playing the bundled Hitman 2: Silent Assasin or Soldier of Fortune: Double Helix, never get snuck upon again! Also hear every acoustic detail within the game so you can tell whether your enemy is sneaking out of cave or whether hes hiding in the nearby temple planning an unexpected ambush!!

Look in the cool and useful section to download some environment effects for your Audigy 2.

To take full advantage of the sound card get some good speakers. The Inspire 6700 has 7 speakers (three in the front and three in the back and one big amp for the bass) and it has a remote control with volume, adjustable bass and a headphone socket. If your speakers are in need of a lift, chuck those tinny things out and step up to the Inspire 6700.
