| My full name is Lara Marie Southard Marsh, Southard being my maiden name. I was born to parents Gary and Mary Southard and have one younger brother, Anthony (Tony) Southard and three younger sisters, Tanya Horne (formerly Southard and Cote), Katherine Southard, and Kara Southard. I have three kids, Cory, Austin, and Sara, and they each have their own page you can link to on here. I was born in Colombus, Ohio and moved to Marlton, New Jersey at age 5. Then my dad, who worked for Siemens, was transferred to South Florida when I was 8. I attended Ramblewood Elementary in Coral Springs, Florida, and Ramblewood Middle School, which I lived blocks from, and later Coral Springs High and Blanche Ely High. I can be found on Classmates.com, which is were I found some very good old friends of mine and am quite thankful for it! My ICQ# is 8942519, but I don't use that much. On Yahoo Messenger I am marsh_lara. That is the one I am on the most. On AOL I am LaraMarshMT, though not used too often. I am a medical transcriptionist and work at home via the Internet for national transcription companies. I love to travel to symposiums to meet other transcriptionists and learn a thing or two. If you want to know more about this field, how to get into it, or need reference materials, link to this page: Transcription I LOVE photography, especially since I got my first digital camera for Christmas 2000. I recently purchased my first digital video camera too! To view my latest work, please visit my Webshots page. I have been on computers since I was young, as my father worked for Siemens, and we were the first family on the block to have a PC. Friends in high school introduced me to the BBS (bulletin board systems), and I was hooked. Also, this is where I got started typing so fast! Boards I used to visit in my teenage years were Moonshae and Realm. I'd love to hear from you if you know what I'm talking about and used to be on these too. I think we should all have a reunion of some sort. A group was just started on Yahoo in May of 2002 for this exact thing, and you can link to it through that Moonshae Link. I went to high school at Coral Springs High School, along with my brother and sister, Tony and Tanya Southard. I wasn't too thrilled with that school, so in my junior year I transferred to Blanche Ely High in Pompano, where I made life-long friends, including the ones who got me hooked on computers, all of whom I have found back through Classmates.com. After high school I worked for Dominos Pizza delivering pizzas and doing managerial work from time to time as well for five years. I worked for a lot of different stores for that company, nearly every one in Broward County and a few in West Palm and Boca. I loved that job. But it wasn't going to be my career. During my last year there, when I became pregnant with Cory, the career thing kicked in along with the new found joy of being a mother, and I decided to do something with my life. I did a correspondence course (more information in Medical Transcription link) and soon was doing medical transcription. I had no idea when I started that course how much I was going to love it or how lucrative it was going to be. I guess I just got lucky and found my thing! If you know me from the old BBS days or Dominos, give me a hollar! I have high-speed internet access and work at home and keep my email on all the time. I'm pretty good about getting back to ya too. I have been separated from my husband for over a year, and we are in the process of getting a divorce. The kids and I have lived in Gainesville since April of 2001, where my sister Katherine lives. I think Gainesville is beautiful, the weather is excellent, and the people are so nice up here! We spend a lot of time at O2bKids, where the kids do Karate, Computers, and Chess, and many art classes, and Sara does Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Gymnastics. And one more thing: Music I love by groups Red Hot Chili Peppers, Staind, 3 Doors Down, Boston, Lifehouse, Dave Navarro, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, and Journey, just to name a few old favorites and new. A new find of mine is Citezen Cope. I also like Puddle of Mudd, Linkin Park, Creed, and Stone Temple Pilots. I have attended the Family Values Tour concert in 2001 as well as Zeta 94.9's Bonzai concerts in 2001 and 2002. |
