Hello, Well its been a pretty rough couple days with our darling Mala. She was very attached to her foster mother and is mourning her terribly. She also seems to have been very spoiled by her foster mother and we now have are hands full. She has very bad temper tantrums and most people in the hotel know when she is angry. She has adopted her father but not ready to adopt her mom yet.
I do get some special moments here and there with her but she would much rather be in her fathers arms. She hates the stroller and had such a bad tantrum when sat it that she vomited. But someone lent us their baby carrier and she loved it so, mommy and daddy were very pleased. Tuesday was the worst she was in a bad mood all day crying having tantrums, mom and dad were a little discouraged.Last night Mommy and Daddy decided to start working on slaying the dragon and turning it into a little princess.
So hopefully by the time we leave for Canada will have a totally different little girl. She is a big girl we think she weighs about 24lbs. She fits in all her clothes of 24 months so far. She has 8 teeth four on top and 4 at the bottom and shows them proudly when she smiles and makes a shhhhhhhhhh sound. She can not crawl very much mostly because she is so fat but when she really wants to see us she manages to crawl to us.
We believe that she has not spent much time on the floor and she does not play alone very much. But it seems this is normal in the Chinese culture that children spend most of their first year in the parents arms.As for our trip so far we have visited the orphanage. It is a new orphanage they moved in it last February. It is very beautiful with all the facilities possible. Today we visited a park. Tomorrow we are going to a minority village.
The entire group has been taking things calm since most of the children are having trouble adapting to their new lives. But in the evening we put the babies to bed and all the parents are in the hall with beer and relaxing.
Mario,Marlne & Mala
