| Flight from Montreal to Vancouver We are now on our way to Vancouver. We took off about a half hour late. We will need to be quick on our toes to make our flight to Shanghai. We have Mr. M�nard traveling with us from Formons une Famille (our agency) He will be traveling with the group who are going to Nanning in Guangxi (Myandra�s province). He informed us that we will not be staying at the Sino-Swiss Hotel in Beijing. We will be in downtown Beijing. Some of us will be at the City hotel and another part of the group at the Plaza. We still don�t know which hotel we will be in. We were very pleased with this change. He also said that we are 31 couples receiving 31 babies, it is the biggest group Formons une Famille has ever had going to China at one time. |

| On this flight I spoke to a Chinese man who was very nice. He actually translated a paper we had received from the orphanage which gave us more information about Ma�la. She was found on the street at 10 days old. She had an infected umbilical cord, which was treated. It seems she had a note on her indicating her birth date. She moved to the foster home at 15 days old. Her name means Xiang (beauty) Yun (cloud). He taught me how to pronounce her name properly, but I�ve already forgotten We are now in Shanghai. Our guide is Raphaelle and in Beijing it will be Jade. We are going to bed soon we are really tired I slept 1 hour since we left Friday morning. Our flights went very well. We had a nice meal at the hotel and went walking Downtown. We found out that we will be with Ma�la tomorrow evening at 6.30, one day sooner than expected!!!! |
| Nous sommes maintenant en route vers Vancouver. Nous avons d�coll�s une demi-heure en retard. Vu ce retard l�escale � Vancouver devera �tre de courte dur�e, nous aurons juste le temps d� attraper notre vol pour Shanghai.Nous avons rencontr� M.M�nard de Formons une Famille (notre agence) qui voyage avec le groupe de Guangxi. Il va nous rejoindre � Beijing. Il nous as inform� que nous allons sejouner au City Hotel au lieu de Sino-Swiss hotel � Beijing. Nous sommes tres content de ce changment car nous allons �tre au centre ville. Il nous a aussi dit que ce groupe est un des plus gros de l�histoire de Formons une Famille. |

| J�ai beaucoup parler avec un monsieur d�origine chinoise sur ce vol. Il �tait tr�s gentil. Il nous a traduit des documents chinois de Ma�la. Nous avons appris qu�elle a �t� trouv�e a l�ge de 10 jours sur le bord d�une route. Il semblerait que la personne qui l�avait abandonn�e avait laiss�e une note indiquant sa date de naissance. Elle avait une infection au nombril qui a �t� trait�e et ensuite elle aurait �t� plac�e dans une famille d�acceuil 5 jours plus tard. La signification de son nom est Xiang(beaut�) Yun (nuage). Il ma montr� comment prononcer son nom mais j�ai d�j� oublier. |

| 9:oopm April 17, 2004 (9am Quebec). Nous sommes a Shanghai. Notre guide pour notre s�jour � Guizhou c�est Raph�lle et a Beijing c�est Jade. Nos vols ont tr�s bien �t�. Nous avons mang�s au restaurant de l�hotel Et nous sommes tous aller prendre une marche au centre ville. Nous avons eu la nouvelles que nous allons rencontr� notre Ma�la demain � 18 :30 !!!!!!! Une journ�e en avance sur l�horaire pr�vu !!!!!!! |
