To combine my strong background in hydrology, climatology, forestry and GIS in a  challenging working environment that will use both my analytical skills learned in university and my practical knowledge gained from BCIT.

Simon Fraser University (NSERC)

 

Tim Johnsen, a Simon Fraser Master’s student, and constructed a model for deglaciation for the South Thompson Valley.  We collected sedimentological data that was manipulated and analyzed using ArcView 3.2.

Apr - Sep 1999

 

 

Environment Canada (NHRI Saskatoon)

 

Collection and analysis of snowmelt water storage data for the Havikpak Watershed N.W.T.  The collected data was used in conjunction with a DEM to model to characterize the snowmelt water storage for the Havikpak watershed.  This project became my Honour's Thesis.

  • Thorough understanding of climate radiation sensors and data loggers (flux sensors, radiation sensors)

  • Very familiar with air photos, terrain stability maps, geologic maps, vegetation classification maps, soil classification maps, topographic maps

  • Working knowledge of B.C. biogeoclimatic zone classification, plant identification, terrain stability, and soil classification

  • Understanding of Ecological Monitoring and Assessment Network – Terrestrial Vegetation Biodiversity Monitoring Protocols
