This part of the site has been devoted to my favourite game, Counter-Strike. For anyone who has never heard of or played the game, here is what your missing... |

|
Counter-Strike, or CS as its more formally known, has been around for about 4 or 5 years. It was based on the all time classic, "Half-Life". In this modification for it, you choose whether you wish to be either a Counter-Terrorist (CT), basically a police-type figure, or a Terrorist (T). The game has many custom maps, 20 in total. Each of these are set on a wide selection of locations. These maps include ones set in an Airport, an Oilrig, an Mansion, Italy and a Casino set in Las Vegas. |

Each map has one of three scenarios for the teams. There will be an Assassination scenario, in which one Counter-Terrorist is a VIP, armed only with a pistol, but with 200 armour (normally 100 max. ) and the rest of the CT team must protect and escort him to a helicopter located almost always beside the Terrorist starting point.
The second, is a Hostage Rescue. This is where the T's protect a base containing the 4 Hostages. The CT's then have to infiltrate the base, grab the hostages and get out of there, while fending off the opposing team.
The final scenario, is the Bomb Diffusion. At the beginning of each round, one member of the Terrorists will have a C4 Explosive Charge in his weaponry. He must then plant the bomb in one of 2 bomb sites located on the map. The CT's job is to either protect the site from being planted upon, or to diffuse the bomb before the timer counts down, and it explodes. Just like the VIP's helicopter, one of two bomb sites are located very close to the opposition's base. |

At the beginning of each round, the two teams start off at opposite sides of the map. They will begin in an area known as the "Buy Zone". This is where they will purchase any equipment or weaponry. The teams can buy the same weapons, except the CT's can buy an M4A1, instead of the T's purchase; an AK-47.
The teams have a very large arsenal of weapons and equipment to choose from. You can buy things from Desert Eagles, to Sniper Rifles, to High Explosive Grenade and Flash Bang Grenades.
New versions of this Mod are released quite frequently with new bug fixes. The next Mod will see the Counter-Terrorists armed with a new Riot Shiel, along with both teams having one new weapon each. |
