Busy Day
Goodness am I tired, you would not believe how much I did today.
I expect to be told I did nothing at all that is what the busy beavers say.
Oh but I was very busy, I ate lunch while I held down the grass,
I drew a circle around me that I wouldn't let the ants pass.
I caught a leaf that fell from a branch up high.
I became a landing pad for the most beautiful butterfly.
I watched the clouds go floating by,
Just to make sure not one fell from the sky.
I followed a centipede to see if he had any toes,
However, he was to quick, I could not even see if he had a nose.
I sucked the seeds out of four cherry tomatoes,
And wished for no more floods or scary tornadoes.
I climbed up two very tall trees,
So I can see just what a bird sees.
I twirled around and around just because it was fun,
And I held down another patch of grass when I was done.
I shared my water with a tree,
Because he gets thirsty just like me.
I tried to think of silly new words,
Twice I counted the same flock of birds.
Just to make sure that everyone was there,
And not left behind back there somewhere.
I had to breathe, so I did, over a thousand times,
And I listened to the distant music of wind chimes.
I relaxed my mind and let all the bad thoughts go.
And when I spoke to a ladybug, I remembered to keep my voice down low.
I soaked up some warm sunshine,
And picked up trash that was not even mine.
I listened to a birdcall to his mate from high in the tree,
And 1 seen just how a flower is kissed by a honeybee.
So those who think I did nothing today I'd have to say you are all wrong,
I did a lot and I am tired. But before I go I'll listen to nature play another song.
