The library recently recieved the LSTA Library Innovation Grant to help expand the services of our genealogy room.  An award of $8597.00 was given to pay for the new items below:
Computer and Color Printer
Color Scanner
10 Years of Death Certificates

E-Copy: Which makes researchers capable of copying information from microfilm to the computer for better printing quality

A Prime Time Family Reading Time Grant was also recently recieved to help provide special family programming for "at risk" families in the community.  The grant, not given in a monetary amount, will pay for an educator and a storyteller to help conduct a series of story centered family discussions.  To find out more about

The Summer Community Coalition recently met on Jan. 21st to make plans for the joint project of a "Renaisence Faire" and to share resources, activities and lesson plans dealing with this summers theme: "Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds".  The meeting was a big success with a date for the Faire being set at July 15th.
Any person wishing to help out with the Faire needs to contact Amy Morgeson at the library to get more details on what types of volunteers are needed.
