May 8, 2004: Curt passes Warren Spahn for 20th on the Major League Baseball All-Time strikeout list. Curt's 10 strikeouts give him 2,595 strikeouts for his career. Number 19 All-time is Chuck Finley.

Here is the list of the 100 All-Time Strikeout leaders Baseball-Almanac.com

Curt tops Koufax!!! Curt finished the 2002 season with 316 strikeouts and only 33 walks in 258.1 innings pitched. He struck out 11.0 batters per 9 innings and only walked 1.15 batters per 9 innings, which is 9.85 strikeouts for every walk. That ratio is considered beyond excellent for a power pitcher. Curt ended the season with a better ratio than Sandy Koufax's in his landmark 1965 season: 382 strikeouts, 71 walks in 335.7 innings. He had 10.2 strikeouts per 9 innings, but walked 1.9 batters per 9 innings, which is 8.3 strikeouts per walk.
