The British Ambassador in
Egypt Supports Hosting the 2010World Cup in Egypt:
Sir Derek Plumbly, the British ambassador in Egypt,
attended the global sports festival which the
British Council held in the Hockey Stadium at Cairo
International Stadium under the auspices of the
Ministry of Youth within the framework of the أ¢â‚¬إ“Dreams
and Teamsأ¢â‚¬â€Œ program aimed at developing skills
of Egyptian youth. Young people aged 14-17
participated in the festival from schools and youth
centers across Egypt.
The festival program included a speech by Dr. Ali El
Din Hillal, Minister of Youth, who referred to the
Egyptian outdoor promotion campaign for hosting the
FIFA World Cup 2010 in Egypt and a speech by Sir
Derek Plumbly, the British ambassador in Egypt, who
signed the support card to host the FIFA World Cup
2010 in Egypt. The volunteers of the Egyptian
Bidding committee also distributed flags with the
Egypt 2010 Logo.
It is worth mentioning that the أ¢â‚¬إ“Dreams and
Teamsأ¢â‚¬â€Œ program has been launched in 20
countries, including Egypt, under the auspices of
the British Council, with the aim of strengthening
ties with the UK.

and Physics, Winner of Nobel Prize and the Egyptian File
ambassador, has sent a fax to Egypt 2010 Bidding
Committee, addressing the whole world.
