They're actually a holdover from my brief (VERY brief) stint as a Mary Kay consultant. Nothing against the company or the people, I just realized quite quickly that it was NOT for me. I was told the story of the Bumblebee at a meeting and at once felt a connection to the story and the reason for the flight of the Bumblebee... it spoke to me and I could immmediately see the relevance of her story in my life. Did you know that according to the laws of aerodynamics the Bumble Bee should not be able to fly? Her wings are too small, her body too heavy... but the Bumblebee, not knowing this... flies anyway.
I'm sure you've noticed the little buzzing fly-bys and the annoying little buggers all over these pages.... the truth is ... I LOVE Bumblebees and what they stand for....
So, this brings me to the question. Why don't all of us fly? Every one of us has, in the course of our lives, had someone TELL us that we could not fly, that it simply could not be done... I know that I have. The unfortunate thing is... once we've been told this.. we believe it. We believe those words and so many of us don't even make the ATTEMPT to fly, to become someone even GREATER than we are. To be the best possible person that we can be. A person who follows their heart and believes in their dreams. We lose faith in ourselves, in our abilities & our convictions... all because of one voice, one person who has told us that it is impossible. I say that it's time to IGNORE that voice... HOW do they know that I can't fly? From now on... I'm going to be like the Bumblebee... and it may take some work, and my wings may be shaky and unsteady at first....
but I'm going to fly anyway!
