SAVE THEM! SAVE THEM!
Save us! Save us!
Actually.....uh, I'm not sure exactly what we can do to further the cause unless we all quit our current forms of employment and become scientists and environmentalists with a concentration on arctic life.
An article in a local paper caught my eye.  Mainly, because it had three FABULOUSLY ADORABLE PICTURES OF MY FAVORITE ANIMAL IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!... I'll try to refrain from such outbursts because I realize it weakens my credibility here.  Anyhow, the article mentioned that harmful chemicals - prohibited chemicals! - lingering from current and past exposure to the environment, settle in arctic regions and are a severe danger to arctic animals.  Seals, marine life....and POLAR BEARS!!!!! They store nutrients and such in their fat for their young, and they become poisoned themselves, and poison their young through their milk.
Now I realize that this animal, should you encounter it, would probably rip you to shreds.  But it is SO CUTE!  And...one should be concerned with saving endangered wildlife, etc.  This webmistress, however, is a little biased - and somehow, we must SAVE THE POLAR BEARS!

I also found out....YOU CAN PET POLAR BEAR CUBS AND THEY WON'T BITE YOU!!!  They are very agreeable, as long as you drug the mother.  Which doesn't seem very humane, but the drugs wear off and they remain safe and unharmed. And you can PET THEM!!!  If I could go on "Name Your Own Adventure" formerly aired on NBC and hosted by Mario Lopez, I would want to go to the Arctic and pet a polar bear cub.
Okay, back to credibility.  Here are a couple of websites to check out, if you are...environmentally concerned. Or if you want to look at cute pictures of polar bears.
