PICTURE OF THE "WEEK": entitled "Goodnight, Sanity"
"Theatre, when it fulfills its function, expresses the genius of people. Often it laughs at their gods, their leaders and their foibles and so often it has been put down, censored, banned. But this is its function and it requires the functioning of the composite mind. The Puritans laid a gravestone on the great English theatre of Elizabeth I's time, and it has never recovered. Tonight, I put my faith in the young ones of this audience. Carry on, it's up to you." Joan Littlewood

Art, especially the stage, is an area where it is impossible to walk without stumbling; There are in store for you many unsuccessful days and whole unsuccessful seasons, there will be great misunderstandings and deep disappointments. . . you must be prepared for all this, accept it and nevertheless, stubbornly, fanatically follow your own way. . . - a Chekhov -

RISD is currently hosting an exhibit thru July 11 of the illustrations of "Goodnight Moon" by Clement Hurd - and his illustrations of "Runaway Bunny," which I prefer. His son is also an illustrator whose works are on display. Taryn, Kelly, Bonnie, and I visited one rainy day, and per usual, couldn't resist being part of the action. Here we are, ACTUALLY PLAYING IN THE ROOM OF GOODNIGHT MOON. I know. It's unbelievable. Visit mynews page! for our Runaway Sanity shot.
Do you love the Preraphaelites? I do. I am not well-versed in who, how, and why it is "great art" - maybe it isn't. But to me it's romantic and beautiful and devestating, sort of bodice-ripping, just the way life is in some of my favorite guilty pleasure books! ha - and so it is appropriate for my website I think, to represent these heroines, as I might as well be one of them - just look at all the beautiful redheads living in devestation or ecstacy (or both)! I think I'd fit right in. So here they are and here I am in: The Beautiful Life!
