Turkey (Sept 10th - Sept 22nd) Continued

Then Goreme The fairy tale valley of limestone

The Limestone Pillars are a twist of nature, they have been formed by wind and water erosion over the years. The tops have a harder stone that prevents the erosion and creates the Pillars.

  

We went around and discovered canyons and houses that have been dug into the soft stone.

  

Nearby this went further, and a whole city was hewn out of the rock, with space for upto 5000 poeple to hide underground from invaders.

So with another day over on our tour we all chilled and watched the sun setting over Turkey 

 

For the evenings entertainment most of the group went out to a Turkish evening
