Right into September and there's quite a lot to report.
First off a BIG, BIG thank you to those people who've sent in donations to the website fund. Thanks to your contributions the www.marcoscars.net URL (which expired in August) is safe for another two years - Unlike www.marcoscars.com which is now in the hands of a US car dealer! - I won't be posting names (if you've contributed and want a name check, let me know), but those who've contributed know who they are.
Meanwhile, numerous GT championships are nearing their finales and you can catch up on the BRDC GT and the Euro GT series on the racing page and there're two new Cars of the Month, too as I missed August - This in danger of becoming Car of the Bimonth.
The 2003 MOC/CMI rally has been and gone and I didn't get there, but Gary Harman's sent a few photos, which you can see here and Chris Bell has kindly sent a link to his, also excellent, 50 or so shots.
Former owner of my car, Konrad Wolosz, got in touch again recently to let me know that the picture of the car with flowers on the bonnet was for his own wedding, but I forgot to ask him what year it was, so, if you're reading this Konrad, get in touch and let me know.
Paul Edwards recently sent me some excellent photos of Marcos production in the 1960s, which are on the history page. If you can provide any information on the photos or have any period photos of Marcos car, get in touch. I also plan to put together a new section for the site, with photos of 60s and 70s Marcos in their original era, so send me any photos from the 60s or 70s you have.
Don't forget, too, that you can still read my report on a visit a couple of US owners and I took to Alama, California, to visit the Morris family, who own the one off Mantis XP racer, which competed in the Spa 1000kms in 1968. For those of you who know your Marcoses, this is a bit of a holy grail. You can read how we got on and see lots of pictures of this great car in the article.
The CMI TVG/MMOC club meet is still at the Leather Bottle, Mattingley as usual on the first Tuesday of each month about 8:00PM. A few owners usually turn up, so come along, whether you're an owner, want to be one, or just like unusual cars.
If you've any comments, drop me an E-mail and don't forget to E-mail me photos of your cars for Car Of The Month - If you don't have access to a scanner, E-mail me for my postal address so I can get your car on the Net.
Most of all, I hope you enjoy the Unofficial Marcos Homepage and continue to return to it for more information on Marcos cars over the coming months.
If you like the page as a whole, I can build you a website, so get in touch. Reasonable rates!
Also remember that Paul Wilson can help with the graphical design department. If you like what you see here, he can do something similar for you on a commercial basis.
