Our Inspiration

Marco Polo wrote vivid descriptions of the beautiful cities and interesting people's he encountered on his journey along the Silk Road through the Middle East, South Asia, and China.


His western readership came to see the east as somewhere that was no longer impossibly distant.  By raising awareness of the cultures and traditions of these mysterious exotic lands he built a bridge between the two worlds.


Our logo includes the two-humped Bactrian camel, a favourite of histroical Silk Road traders, in recognition of Marco Polo's travels and Dubai's role as a modern trading metropolis.

Our unique blend

As our name suggests Marco Polo Espresso is a cosmopolitan coffee shop where we are not afriad to seek-out the best ingredients from the world's exotic corners.  For that reason we have commissioned our own blend of coffee made-up of washed Arabica beans from the Caribbean and washed Kaapi Royal 17 Robusta beans from the Chandragiri plantation in Karnataka, India.  Together, they are medium roasted in order to obtain a uniform aroma while incorporating their opposite qualities to form a perfect "Italian Style" espresso blend.
