What is the fair trade?
Throughout our daily life we find different products (such as chocolate, coffee, T-shirt, trainers…) which have been produced in underdeveloped countries. And usually the great European and American companies contract staff for many hours paying very little money to make these products.
Due to this system the companies which have an easy
acces to the technology, the communications and the economical resources become
richer every day, whereas the companies with few resources become really poor.
The fair trade proves that it is possible to trade in
international markets, giving a sufficient and fair salary to worker and
offering a good product to the buyer.
The fair trade must have the following
characteristics:
*Children will go to the school, instead of working.
*There must not work as slaves.
*Men and women must earn the same.
*The salary
must allow a decent life to the worker and must be proportional to the number
of hours that he/she works.
*People must have sanitary attention, widow’s pension…
*The manufacture of the product will not put in danger
the natural resources of the ecosystem.
The fair trade doesn’t try to be charitable. It just
wants justice.
