MAGGIE MCKINNICKINNICK

     Maggie McKinnickinnick, abstract artist, colorist, print- and paper maker.
She has studied at the Silvermine School of Art, the Westbeth Workshop and with Hiroshima Morimoto.
Her numerous one-person shows include Silvermine Galleries in New Canaan, CT,
Cast Iron Gallery in Soho in New York City, and The Connecticut Gallery in Marlborough, CT. Her work has been apart of several exhibitions including a 1999 exhibit at the United Nations, and at the Kohn Pederson Fox Gallery in New York;
and in Connecticut at the Bruce Museum, and John Slade Ely House.
Ms. McKinnickinnick's work is also a part of the collections of General Electric, the private collection of Mrs. Fritz Mondale, and the Marketing Corporation of America.
In describing her creative process she remarks:
"I am constantly searching for changes. My attention expands gradually. I never start out knowing exactly what I am going to make. I usually have a tune up time; I doodle, I meditate, I read poetry, look at pictures and then I start. One thing leads to another, a message just appears, a rememberance provokes a thought, ending, I hope, in a "momentary stay of confusion.
