Brodie's Medical History
The Near Loss of a Legend
![]()
In early August of 2003, the life of Brodie the cat almost came to a sudden halt at the tender age of 6 months. One day she did not seem herself in the house, she could not stand up on her own and could barely meow. So she was rushed to a local animal hospital and they diagnosed her with having a kidney infection, and there was a good chance she was die. It would be a costly and risky process to save the kitten.
Brodie's owner Mark choose to proceed with the treatments, and a week after she was brought into the hospital she was released as good as new. The only reminder of her sickness was she had to take some pills for a few weeks, and a giant medical bill. Mark choose to save her and take on the $1,000 medical bill because he couldn't let such a young kitten with a promising life pass on that easy and without a fight. Money was raised by his friends and colleagues through a webpage alerting people of her illness and a way to donate money to her fund. The link to that page is available in the links section below.
Today Brodie is very grateful for having her life saved and is always sure to appreciate life and live it to its fullest. She knows that without a caring and generous owner, her life would have ended well before it should have.
