Prawns Ahoy!

Welcome to Prawns Ahoy! What is this crazy place, you might be asking? Why is it dedicated to shrimp, and named after a prawn? Basically, this is a listing, dedicated to all those who love the running joke about the alternate universe from both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel filled with nothing but shrimp. You see, it all started in season 5 of BtVS with the alternate reality that Jonathan cooked up in the episode Superstar. He had everyone believing that he was the end all, be all of life everywhere. Everyone wanted him in some form or another. Buffy began to find this a bit fishy, so to speak, so she went to Anya for advice on alternate realities and universes. Thus leading to an explanation of creating an alternate universe with nothing but shrimp. Later in the episode, Anya explains, "Say you really like shrimp a lot." This was the running gag for the episode. It was even mentioned again during the episode Triangle of BtVS (except this time reference was made to a land without shrimp which was also mentioned during Anya's alternate universe ramble in Superstar). It was made even more hilarious in season 5 of Angel (keep in mind that this is two seasons later, with it never having been mentioned since on BtVS and never before on Angel) when the newly posessed Fred (or Illyria) tells Wesley all about the different worlds she's been to......and with utter confusion on her face she says, "And one world with nothing but shrimp. I tired of that one quickly." Thus proving to us that this world of shrimp does indeed exist. So even if you don't like shrimp, but you're a fan of this particularly amusing alternate universe, please, do join the listing.
