| It seems to me that never has a year gone by so very quickly. Now as I think back on 2005, I begin to reflect on the achievements over the last 12 months.
During this time I have endeavored to meet and get to know most of you, the Italian teachers of the Hume Regional schools. We have been engaged in learning of the Victorian Government Blueprint and in the planning for the implementation of the VELS, we have shared ideas and come together for meetings and professional development. The enthusiasm and commitment of you all has been commented on by many and I count myself lucky to have met colleagues & to have made so many new friends. Looking ahead to 2006: in an effort to increase lines of communication, I have decided to publish a website newsletter every month, in addition to my COASIT newsletter found in the COASIT Resource Centre newsletter supplement Aggiorniamoci. I will be using this page as a way of promoting Italian and will feature what teachers are doing to promote Italian in schools. Featured will be news items from Italy and teaching ideas from clever fellow colleagues. Feel free to use this site as a forum. Your thoughts and suggestions are very important so please send in your comments and ideas to be shared & published on this site. Wishing you all a peaceful & successful New Year. Tanti Auguri Melita |
