| CALENDAR OF EVENTS
AiSV Government Schools are welcome to attend these workshops. AiSV will bill the schools direct. All the workshops will be held at AiSV 20 Garden Street, South Yarra and are limited to 25 with morning tea & lunch provided unless otherwise stated. New VCE LOTE Teachers� Forum - This workshop is a joint initiative of the Modern Language Teachers Association of Victoria (MLTAV) and the Association of Independent Schools of Victoria (AiSV). The workshop will provide advice on determining a range of suitable topics and sub-topics for Years 11 and 12 and ways of sequencing these. Suggestions for setting and timing SACS will also be given. Participants should bring their VCE Study Design and any materials they are planning on using to teach at thses two levels. Dates & Time: Tuesday 21 February 2006 (9.30 � 3.30) Cost: $55.00 (inc GST) per participant. Closing date 14/02/06 Unpacking VELS for Language Teachers in the Middle Years - Focus on Years 5-8 & to enable teachers to develop an understanding of the different components of the VELS documents. Limit - 40 participants. Dates & Time: Wednesday 1 & Thursday 2 March 2006 (9.30 � 3.30) Cost: $88.00 (inc GST) per participant for the two days. Closing date 23/02/06 New LOTE Teachers� Forum Prep � Year 10 Focus will be on a variety of strategies to assist new LOTE teachers coping with a range of classroom situations. Dates & Time: Friday 3 March 2006 (9.30 � 3.30) Cost: $55.00 (inc GST) per participant Closing date 22/02/06 VCE Workshop � Listening & Reading Comprehension Test Items The workshop will provide participants with information about different types of items which can be used to measure students� listening & reading comprehension.
