Friday August 17 - Jags Night Club's First Annual Battle of the Bands FINAL ROUND
-1227 Wilmingonton Pike (294-0713) in Dayton (near Kettering and Oakwood border), next to Nutra Foods and Handyman, across from Breightenstrater Square
-3 bands play both nights in the finals (Plan B, 44, and Manifest)...every paying person recieves 1 ballot...each band plays 1 45 min set...votes must be turned into the bartender...they are then tallied and results are announced at the end of the night
-The final 3 bands play 2 dates in the 3rd and final round, and the vote totals from both shows and are tallied to see who's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place...
-Rules specifically state "No one under 18 permitted unless accompanied by parent with same last name." - the last 4 shows there theyve let evry1 of the underagers in, so it should be the same once again here in the finals...
-Music starts at 10, doors open at 9 (won't know which band plays 1st, 2nd, etc 'till earlier that night)
-Cover charge will be $5
-At the show, the limited edition Summer '01 Live CD Sampler will be for sale for $3 (hint hint)...see ya there!

Manifest Returns

Friday July 27 - Second Round of Dayton Band Playoffs at Canal Street Tavern (TIEBREAKER)
-The biggest band playoffs in Dayton...come support Manifest and lets see how far we can get...ok, here's the info:
-Manifest ended round 1 in 7th place...in the 2nd round, 1st place from round 1 plays 24th place from round 1, 2nd plays 23rd, etc...so in our case, we play 18th place Achilles Heel...in the first meeting between the two bands, it was a 56-56 dead tie (first time there's been a tie in the last 5 years, and only the 3rd time ever in the 18 year history of the playoffs), so this is the tiebreaker night...
-For rounds 2-4, 2 bands a night will be playing 2 45-55 min sets...band 1 = 9:00, band 2 = 10:15, band 1 = 11:30, band 2 = 12:45...a coin toss will determine who plays 1st and 2nd and we won't know that until 2 hours before the 1st band's set, so please be there at 9 and be prepared to stay till late...
-$3 cover charge and you must be 18+ or have YOUR parent present to get in...or you could always do the 1 "parent" (or adult who looks old enough to be a parent) for 2-3 kids ("brothers"/"sisters")
-This is the 2nd round, there were 50 bands total in this competition. At the end of the 1st round, 24 bands were left based on the highest vote counts out of all the bands, not just the night they played...in all other rounds passed the 1st round, the competition is head-to-head for the night, meaning the band w/ the most votes each night they place advance to the next round (so come out and vote! bring parent, friends, cousins, lovers, watever...)...there are 5 rounds total, so the competition will last into early September.
-At the show, the limited edition Summer '01 Live CD Sampler will be for sale for $3...there's less than 20 copies left (hint hint)...see ya there!
