| Monthly Activity Days: Outings for Moms and their kids to area locations such as zoos, apple orchards, pumpkin patches and super market tours. Kids Crafts: Encourage your budding artist with simple, but creative, crafts. This activity is usually held at the coordinator's home. Mom's Night Out: The ever important night where Moms get together without the kids! Moms enjoy scavenger hunts, local restaurants, movies and mini-golf...just to name a few! Playgroups: From infants to preschoolers, each month there are several weeboks (infants thru 18 months) and playgroups. Kids get to play with friends and Moms get to enjoy adult conversations! General Meetings: A chance for all members and their children to meet at a community location (usually a library) and mingle. During a typical meeting there is some club business and then a speaker or activity geared to Moms and their children. Potlucks: Another popular event held in a member's home. The hostess picks a theme and the attending members and their children bring the corresponding food! Planning Meetings: To help the Board and coordinators keep the calendar clean, a monthly meeting is held to coordinate meeting dates and times. All members are encouraged to attend and share their activity/special interest ideas. Fun & Fitness: Get out of the house and let go of some energy with your kids! Members meet at local parks, pools and indoor recreational facilities to encourage eachother to keep moving! Seasonal/Ongoing Park Days: A casual gathering at a local park where kids can play and Moms can catch-up with fellow members or relax in the sun. Babysitting Co-op: Members join the co-op and earn points by watching other co-op members children. Spend those points with other members when it's your turn to go out kid-free. Service Projects: Our chapter has participated in collecting for UNICEF, toner cartridge recycling, collecting for a local homeless shelter and knitting blankets for newborns...and that's just to name a few! Sunshine Greetings & Meals: When a member needs a pick-me-up they'll receive a greeting card to let them know we're supporting them. When a new baby arrives or a family is in need, meals are provided for a small period of time. If you have ideas for activities, special interest groups and other pursuits, feel free to bring them up with the Board. |
