| Hristofor Crnilovic ( 1886-1963) to serbian cultural publicy well known as a collector, ethnograph, painter and pedagog. He attended school in his native Vlasotince, then in Leskovac and Pirot. Education in painting he atained in art schools in Belgrade, Munich and Paris. There's been preserved only about 30 of his art works. Most of them were created in the period from 1918th to 1926th year. , though, there are many from the later period up to begining of II World War . A great deal of them are studies of a femine act and portraits as well. A small number are landscapes and still lifes ( Natura Morte ). |
| Crnilovic was an active soldier, participant in many battles in both balkan wars, and I World War . He went through very difficult years of warefare and suffering, especially in the 1915th , when he entailed with the rest of the serbian Army through Albania , and finally arrived on Krf. Between two World wars , and a short period during II World war , he lived and worked as a teacher of drawing in several towns of east and south Serbia ( Negotin, Skopje and Aleksinac) . That was a time of his the most productive work in art, collecting and scientific research. |
