So, younger peoples, what is a commune? I get asked, "is it all free love and bongos?", sadly never by any groovy chicks. Well, peoples, NO, not much is free here and there's no love lost between some of our members.
We do live as one big family though and share everything we have with each other. We grow our own food in our allotment and garden - organic, of course. We have strict Green rules in the house - don't come around here on recycling day, it looks like a bomb hit the Blue Peter ideas office. We eat communally, which means we have a cooking rota. We bring up our kids communally. We share everything, even clothes.
Everyone here volunteers somewhere in town. I spend time at the Mermaid's house. Saffron gives time to the Elders. Starpoem helps out at the children's day centre. Dezz is inventing in his Shed. Cosmic Pete and Dave Damage are still with us, but we've got a big communal meeting about THAT coming up tomorrow...
