I had a look in the window of DAVAL Computers in Peterborough
and saw that they sell second hand PC's starting from £25.00.
It is my current intention to use my laptop to power the
cabinet, however there are a few problems with this in that I
will have to short out the power on/off button. If I
don't then I will have to manually open the cabinet and turn
on the laptop before using the cabinet.
This kind of defeats what I want to do - in as much as I want
a main power on/off button or switch on the outside of the
cabinet.
At least I know that there is a quick alternative. If I
have power button problems, I will buy a decent second hand PC
and strip use that to power the cabinet instead of my laptop.
Ordered my MiniPAC!
Paul (from
ChunkyCab fame)
advised me that he had used this controller for his cabinet
and having looked at the
Ultimarc website, I
very quickly decided that this little bad boy was for me.
It all appears from the website blurb to be a simple
installation job.
So out with the plastic and the orders placed! |
