Well, after looking around the net one sunny day I stumbled upon MAME.
For those of you who are not familiar with this powerful piece of software, it is basically an emulator that allows you to play all your old favourite arcade games from the 70's right up to and including the modern arcade games of today!!!

There appears to be an absolutely thriving community who pay tribute to this wonderful program and nowadays a large percentage of those devotees of the program build their own arcade cabinets on which to play their games.

After breaking a keyboard :) playing one of these games I decided to build my own cabinet.
Now I'm not much of a carpenter and so I have gone down the other route, in that I have purchased an old Electrocoin "Silverline" cabinet and intend to restore it to it's former glory.

This website will chronicle my exploits, thoughts, successes and failures (hopefully not too many of the later).

I have created an on-line diary (click here) where my daily thoughts and ramblings can be found along with photographs of my progress.

Below are a couple of photographs I have taken of my pride and joy still with its monitor in place and prior to any major refurbishment.
It's in a very sorry state at this time... but all it needs is a bit of t.l.c and it will be a real kick-ass cabinet!

If you click on any of these photos - They will take you to the diary entry for the day I took them.

Thank you for visiting.  Please check back regularly as the project diary is updated daily.
