My PCOS/TTC story, Continued...
1/15/05:  CD13-ultrasound shows follice at 20.5mm!!  Time for HCG shot!  IUI scheduled for 1/17/05.  Let's pray for baby dust!!

2/3/05:  It appears that our first IUI failed.  I haven't seen AF nor have I gotten a + HPT.  I was told to stop taking the Prometrium (progesterone suppositories) which can cause AF not to arrive.  The office said if AF doesn't show within a week to call back.  No mention of bloodwork which really frustrates me.  What if I am pg, but it's not registering on the HPT's??  Although, I don't feel pg.  :(  Well, got my answer.  AF arrived tonight.  :(  CD1 starts tomorrow 2/4/05.

2/5/05:  CD3 ultrasound.  Everything looks okay to start another round of Clomid and HCG shot.  CD10 ultrasound on 2/13/05.

2/16/05:  Looks like there's 1 follicle measuring 15mm.  :)

2/18/05:  Not sure what the doc was seeing, but there wasn't a follicle.  :(  Bloodwork shows low estrogen (61) and progesterone (0.7) levels.  So, this cycle is a bust.

3/5/05:  Started Aygestin to bring on AF.  AF finally arrived on 3/21/05.

3/23/05:  Started cycle of injectibles.  Started out using the generic European version of Repronex since it was cheaper.  Didn't respond well to it.

3/26/05:  Estrogen bloodwork ok (131.1)

3/29/05:  U/S and bloodwork.  Drop in Estrogen (61).  Upped shots to 3 vials instead
of 2.

3/31/05:  U/S and bloodwork.  Estrogen level is up (196)!!  Doc gave me some US Repronex they had since I was running low.  Continue with 3 vials.

4/2/05:  U/S and bloodwork.  Estrogen up again (706)!!

4/3/05:  U/S shows 3 mature follicles (16mm, 15.5mm and 15mm) and a few more that were close to 14mm.  IUI scheduled for 4/5/05.  This was definitely a cycle of ups and downs!!

4/11/05:  I was having some pain.  So I went to the doctor and was diganosed with a mild/moderate case of OHSS.  Ouch!!

4/21/05:  Had a blood test to be sure of the BFN.  Didn't need to have that done.  I started spotting on 4/20 and AF arrived today.  :(

4/30/05:  Met with the doc.  He's confident that Repronex (the US stuff) is the way to go with me....but suggests that IVF is our best bet for the buck.  Time to start saving.  So, no more cycles until IVF.

7/29/05:  Out of nowhere - AF arrives!!  Totally on it's own!!  WOOHOO!!  On CD100 exactly.  I went to the bathroom and there it was.  A total shock - since I'm not used to starting on my own.  CD1 officially on 7/30/05.

11/2/05:  A couple of weeks ago...my boobs started hurting and I noticed some CM.  I thought ... hmm ... maybe.  Looking back, I don't think I tried the ovulation strips in time to know if I was ovulating or not.  I know now that sore boobs can be a sign of O.  News to me!!  And a first for me.  On 11/1/05, I noticed some brownish mucousy looking stuff...and knew something was happening.  I was right.  AF started.  Again - on it's own!  Yay!!  CD96 this time.  But that's 2 cycles in a row and all by myself!!  Granted, they were 3 months apart - but you have to start somewhere, right?!

I try not to get so frustrated.  It just makes me sad seeing what seems like everyone getting pregnant so easily.  It seems like everyone I know that has a child Daniel's age or younger is already having #2 or #3.  I know I'm extremely lucky to have him.  But it's been 2 1/2 years now that we've been trying to have another baby.  Not sure if we'll wait to see if I start on my own or if I'll use the Aygestin or Provera to bring on AF.  Will write when something happens.

3/31/06:  Well, AF never arrived on it's own.  And I'm not pregnant.  :(  We went to talk to Dr. Williams (our favorite doc in the practice!) about proceeding with the IVF cycle.  He spend quite a deal of time with us (an hour and a half!) which I thought was very nice.  He went over the IVF procedure and answered our questions.  He put me on Provera to bring on AF.  Once AF arrives, I'll start on Seasonale BCP's until we start the Lupron.  Our plan is to be starting the Repronex not long after we return from our Louisville trip around Memorial Day weekend.  If all goes well, we'll be doing the IVF retrieval and transfer in June.  I'm anxious to get started, but nervous at the same time.  Maybe we'll get lucky and it will work the first time!!

4/12/06:  Today is CD1 and start of the BCP's.  AF actually arrived late yesterday afternoon.  I have my trial transfer and SIS on 4/20/06.  And we also have an IVF education day to do before I start the Lupron.
