EMPTINESS TO RICHES

There he sits with a lotto crossword and a penny.
What a handsome lad, that's my boy,
DABBY spells Twenty bucks,
but that ain't too bad, that's my boy.

You can have your TV and you nightclubs,
And you can have your drive in picture show,
I'll bike with my little man near, we'll listen to the radio,
Biding my time and Watching Andrew grow.

Making a fort out of scraps of wood,
And rusty nails, that's my boy,
His wristwatch says it's time for bed,
Well that's quite a shock! That's my boy.

In one short year I've gone from emptiness to riches,
And what I did before that I don't know,
So let it rain on my windowpane, I got my own rainbow,
And I'm sitting here shining watching Andrew grow.

Riding on God's love off to bed,

Oh sleepy head that's my boy

Got to have a drink of water and the T.V. on,

A good night hug that's my boy

What's that you say, your saying your prayers

Well save me a place I'll be there in a minute or so,

Stay right there and I'll say a little prayer before I go

Me and God watching Andrew grow.
