My Family
was Given a
Miracle!
This is a day that will always have a "Very Special Meaning". Two things happened this day, first my family was given a miracle from God and My Brother's heart was fixed.
If you have read my other pages about my Brother you know that he was sick. Diabetes lead to Renal Failure, He has be on dialysis for 4 1/2 years.  August of 2002 we found out he had 4 blockages and a leaking valve in his heart but the Dr's would not try to repair his heart because they said he only had 30% chance of living through the surgery and with those odds they sent him home on medication with hopes it the problem improving.

From that time on we watched as David grew worse and weaker. We knew he could not go on much longer as he was.  His legs had gotten so weak he could hardly walk without help. It was so hard to watch his condition going so fast.

On January 22, 2003 we took him to  The Fuqua Heart Center  at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. There they did another Heart Catherization.
This time in addititon to the other  problems his aorta was 70% blocked and surgery was the only option.   So it was set up for the next day.

We were all horrified at what the results would be.  When I told him "bye"
before surgery I just knew it would be my last. It was one of the longest days of my life. I had to leave the hospital for a little bit while he was still in surgery and I was on way back when my Daddy called and said , the surgery was over and he was doing good.  My heart just bubbled.
I had prayed and ask ever one I knew to pray for him and all I could pray for was God's will be done. Because I didn't want him to suffer like I had seen him do in the last several months.

I am so thankful that God saw fit to give us this Miracle, did not take my Brother but chose to give him a better life. His progress has been a little slow. He has had a few set backs. On Sunday after his surgery on Thursday he was bleeding more than he should have been and a chest x-ray revealed his left lung was filling with blood so he had to go back to surgery. He had a couple of small bleeding vessels stitched and his lung cleaned out and in two days he was out of the ICU  in a room up on the Cardiac floor.  But ever time I see him I can see he is doing better and getting a little stronger. The days he has dialysis are very hard on him because it makes him so weak. But, I just know he is going to be ok and he is going to walk on his on again.

Today is February 6th, two weeks after  his original surgery. Still moving forward. Tomorrow he goes to a Physical therapy Rehabilitation for 1 week. David I know all of this has been so hard on you. But, I  know you will make it because you are tough, fighter, you have a Wife, two kids, Parents, sister and all the rest of the family that loves you very much. So when you get down and out I hope you can overcome it by remembering all of us that love you. But most of all without a doubt I know God is by your side.

Many thanks and much love for all those praying for David
