About Me
When I go visit a site the first place I look for is the page that tells something about the person that made the site. And it hit me I don't have anything in my site that is Titled About Me. Even though my site is really all about me in a round about way.
So here is my page "About Me" I am 43 years old, born and raised in this little town in West Ga. I have been married to my Husband for 28 years. So do the math and you will find I married very young. But, I would do it all over again. He is all I know we started seeing each other 3 years before we married. More math here. But, even at this very young age. I knew this was the person I wanted to spend my life with and be the Daddy of my Kids. It has not always been a bed of roses. But we have always managed to make it though. We married in 1976, During our first year of marriage I was to young to get a job. Darrell worked second shift and went to trade school during the day to become a machinist. That was a tough year. Nine days before I turned 16 a very Dear Lady at a Hospital near by gave me a job as a Ward Clerk until a Nurse's Aide position became available. I had wanted to be a Nurse for as long as I could remember. The state even though I was married would only let me work 6 hrs. a day until I turned 16. Then, I started working 8 hrs. a day. It didn't take long for the assistant job I wanted to to come available. The Lady that hired me Kinda took me in under her wing. I loved Nursing just as much as I thought I would. I worked with Surgical and Orthopedic patients. It was very rewarding. My patients came in had their surgery, got well and went home. In 1979, I started working on getting my GED it took alitte while since I had missed the last 3 years of high school but I finally got it. In 1981, I started vocational school to become a LPN. I went to school during the day, and worked at the hospital at night. That also was a tough year. but, it was worth it. Just before I graduated I found out I was expecting my first baby. This was Ken, he is almost 23 and has the ability to make me smile no matter what. My plans were to work till he was born and soon as I could to go back to work. By, my own choosing that turned out to be 18 mos. later. I went back to work in another hospital luckily day shift and worked till time for my second angel was born. And since then the only time I have worked in nursing was about 7 mos. in a Dr's office. But, I had to quit that job to give Beth the care I felt she needed. In 1987, I started in a whole new job world I started as a assistant on a Special Needs School bus. That is one thing I never ever thought I would be doing. After much coaching from friends and my superviser I finally give in and got my license to drive a bus. And now I have a route here in the town where I live and get to drive Beth to school everyday. Which is a great benefit. Beth goes to a different school than Ken and it is about 17 miles from our home. As it has turned out I have found many times even though I am a Bus Driver. My Nursing skills have really come in handy. I have had all kinds of Kids. I have had Severly Mentally delayed in wheelchairs, that had tremendous grand mal seizures, Other Down's Kids like Beth. And in the 7 years I have been driving a couple of my kids have gone to be with Jesus. All these kids are my kids. I love them with all my heart. So, as the saying goes when God closes a door he opens a window. I had to leave the job I loved so dearly, but God gave me another one that is just as rewarding as Nursing. Let's see what else can I tell you about me? Hobbies: COMPUTER, Playing the piano and organ, sewing and needlepoint, but I guess #1 is being with my family. I really don't care what we are doing as long as we are together. I am the only Daughter to Great Parents and had 1 brother. I have 1 dog and she thinks she is my baby. "Shelby". Well, this was suppose to be a page about me and once again I turned out talking more about my Family. But, I guess that because "My Family" is Me and My Life!!!!
