Debbie with Maynard and Diane
at the snowy Grand Canyon in March.
Dear family and friends,
This year has just flown by, literally.  It was a year of unusual travel opportunities.  At times it was enough to make my head spin but it suited me at this stage of life  .  In January, Andy & I went to Eugene to celebrate Peters 31st birthday with their little family.  Feb. an art class in Green Lake, March, Houston with my sisters at Michelles, and Grand Canyon and Sedona with Maynard and Diane.  In June, Peter s family were here with us for a week at Labor day, then Andy and I went Washington, DC to experience Joes world (he was an intern at the FCC this summer).  In July, I went to Caracas, Venezuela for the wedding of our AFS daughter Caribell Rojas, que bonita!  I also enjoyed a week up north with my friend, Kay painting and playing at her cottage.  August, was Martin family reunion in Chicago, Henrys 25th birthday and his departure to Connecticut for graduate school, and a trip to Eugene to celebrate our 35th anniversary with Peters family and Joe and Ceci. Whew!  Autumn was a little slower.  That was good because my suitcases needed a rest and our cat Angel was getting pretty lonesome.
I did some painting and calligraphy and some  great Marsh walks and some little trips to Illinois and Michigan.
Looking back, I realize how wonderful it really was.  I guess that is the value of doing a Christmas communication like this.  I hope that it is not too boring for you to read, but as the writer, it is a chance to take inventory and appreciate how truly blessed I have been this year.  While, in the news, the world looks very bleak, we are enjoying this amazing abundance.  And to me, the greatest abundance there is, is the wonder and delight of having  all of you out there to think of as I write this.  Some of you are treasured  family, some are amazing friends, some are more like memories of years past.  We may not see each other often, but you are all part of who we are, who we were and who we have become.  This may be the only time this year I can send you my love and wishes for Peace on Earth Goodwill toward All!   Debbie
