A Moot Court Competition is a competition where teams of 2
to 4 students argue a case out in front of judges and experienced
lawyers. Students have to act as both prosecution and defendants
to the case so that they will have to consider the case out from
two opposite perspectives.
The aim of the Malta Moots - Moot Court Competition
organised by The Law Society and Elsa Malta is to give the
opportunity to all law students to gain experience of arguing
out a case in public.
It is designed in such a manner that even 1st year and 2nd
year law students can take part. For this reason NO procedure is
involved in the case, it is based simply on arguments.
The competition takes place at the Law Courts themselves, with
the students arguing the case out in front of actual judges and
lawyers.
