Online games and pictures

One of the games I used to like playing online was Delta Force 2.  However there are certain players that keep on cheating and that really used to get me very angry.   Why can't some guys play decently?

In need of some rush hour?  Want to feel adrenaline pump through your body?   Then put on Delta Force 2 and play it over the internet through Novaworld, or on a LAN (IPX/SPX only).  Human players present a whole new dimension to those who never played online.  Those who breeze through campaigns and single missions should try breezing through multiplayer.  Update is needed of course, and you have to manually download the file.  Novalogic provides the patch (navigate through the downloads section and it's there somewhere).  Do not expect state of the art graphics.  If you can put up with that then it's fun time for you!  Action comes thick and fast from the first second you spawn in a game.   And there are various games for you to cut teeth in.  For the real hardcore Deathmatch is the ultimate, piting player versus player.  Bloody skirmishes are garanteed to leave you pressing SPACE BAR to re-spawn and seek out your killer for revenge.  It's not easy and for beginers it might seem impossible to kill some really hardcore player.   But remember you might fire a shot that can bring down the best player of the world.  So try to make that hot count, and keep your heads low (but always keep moving!)  The second you stop running is the second you will meet your end.  Search and destroy throws in two teams against each other.  Each team spawns n his base and the mission is to destroy and bring down the other team's targets which may include buildings and vehicles.

This is my corpse.   Prepare to die.  Not once or twice but a lot!

Spawning in a new terrain and ready for action

One of my team mates defending our base.  My team mates are tagged with their nicknames so I can know who is where and I do not cause friendly-fire!

Team deathmatch is like deathmatch but instead of alone against everyone it is team based, which can make things real fun!  Then come two of the most fast paced games: King of the Hill and Team King of the Hill.  An area is designated as 'The Hill' and you (and/or your team) must take this area and defend it!   So action is thick around this area (which is usually some sort of building).   Be prepared to die at every corner!

Dead after blowing up their armoury with my satchel charge.  Once deep into enemy territory its really hard to survive and get out in one piece!

A dead comrade-in-arms!

Team King of the Hill.   The spawning area looks like somewhere in the middle east.

Those clump of houses are the area in which I must force my way in.  'The hill' is not the ideal spot being situated on low grounds and surrounded by mountains.  Snipers galore! A victim trying to hide in a mud-house.  I soon ended his misery! Climbing on the top of a roof and taking cover.  However, tracers crisscross the sky above.

Shooting and taking fire.   Common sight in Delta Force Shooting with my M249SAW at some tiny speck.  Tracers whistle past my head.  In deathmatch the action is the fastest of all The rapid firing full automatic capability of the M249 makes it my preferred weapon.  Belt-fed, it saves me from having to change magazine every 30 rounds.  At least I can fire 100+ rounds with no thoughts about having to stop to reload.  Reloading is fast, only takes a couple of seconds, but sometimes it is not fast enough!  The only drawback about this machine gun is that it has no telescopic sight.  So to nick off someone 200m+ away it might be a hell of a job!

Both snapshots above show some action....  Strafing while shooting...  Most of the time skirmishes like these end up in both killing each other! The long grass can be used for cover.  If you duck or go prone you will be completely covered, however as in real life, you can see nothing around you but grass!

Taking shots from one to my front.  And to the right, one of the shots hit home into my body.   Tracers can be seen clearly streaking the sky above Fighting in built up areas (FIBUA) is exciting and can be hard to bring down the enemy.  Assault vests help surviving shots.

Another FIBUA duel! Grenades raining from the sky.   A common sight to see a rainfall of M203 launched grenades exploding in your face. The ground is still smothering from the grenade-rain!

Placing the satchel charge just behind the tank.  Sabotage during dusk is exciting as sneaking in is more possible then in broad dayight In Search and Destroy you have to blow up targets, like this tank over here. I completed the delivery of the lethal package.  It armed after a couple of seconds and now better retreat to somewhere quiet where detonation can be made with minimal fuss

Delta Force Land Warrior is one of the best single/multiplayer games around.   The action, the graphics and the variety of weapons make this a paradise for any type of player.  The game features also character selection that affect gameplay.   The sniper for example is deadly steady with a scope but cannot control a heavy MG like the M249SAW or FN MAG.  Single player missions include a full campaign involving killing terrorists, rescuing hostages and sabotage.  But of course, the action lies within the multiplayer region.  These snapshots show for themselves how one can spend a whole hour of action packed playing.

Spawning at the foot of a giant castle.  Most of the fighting will take place on the inside or immediately on the outside. The courtyard inside the castle...  There is little place to hide and in huge Deathmatches the underground tunnels can be filled with danger!

Dead... but not for long... Pressing SPACE BAR will allow one to re-spawn View from the ramparts.   Notice the deep 'wadis' in the snow

Coming face to face with a CQB combatant.  As my speciality is gunnery having to fight so close with a CQB puts me in a disadvantage The buildings are better than Delta Force 2 and FIBUA becomes the order of the day here
Another improvement Novalogic has made over Delta Force 2 is the use of ranking system within Novaworld.  When starting a fresh new character you will have to work hard to get promoted.  Work here means, killing or capturing flags or staying in 'the hill' zone as you slowly advance through the ranks.

Parachuting down into the fray!  My FN MAG is ready to rip my opponents, that is if I touch the ground alive first.  Airborne targets are sitting ducks. Shot down whilst parachuting to the ground.  When you're up in the sky there's not much you can do to avoid the bullets flying toward you.

A 40mm grenade punching my body... burn! burn! burn!

Welcome to the best 1st person shooter of the year 2003.  There is no game like it and it is completely different form the previous Delta Force games!  Set in Somalia the single player missions are the beginning of a verypowerful and hard game!   Unlike other Delta Force games goals and mission updates occur during gameplay.   Enemies fire intelligently this time... buildings 'look' like buildings and weapons are portrayed very accurately!  If the single player missions are not enough, new enhanced multiplayer games is where the real fun is!

One of the single player missions where you start protecting civilians who are getting fod rations from U.N. personnel, then defending a bridge and crossing to an enemy stronghol, blowing up weapons and finally destroying the bridge! Another single player mission.   Ahead is a mine-field!  Ouch!  One false step and it's death.  Mine fields are pretty common in multiplayer maps.

Full glory of Team King of the Hill!  The Hill is the building in front of me!  Inside, a massacre is happening every second of the game!  The building is too small for two teams at the same time... only one team has to survive!

On board a HMMWV (Humvee) and giving fire with the powerful .50!

Irene!  This was the infamous mission  that was portrayed in the film "Black Hawk Down".   It all starts from the US base, and the Delta team is inserted via Little Bird.   But you have to take out RPGs on the way!

A short flight wil take you to the town of Mogadishu where all hell suddenly breaks loose!  RPG! RPG!

dfbhd08.jpg (32933 bytes) dfbhd09.jpg (32055 bytes)

Left snapshot shows RPG fired towards US helicopters.  As you arrive on the target building you have to first protect a ranger chalk as they fast-rope down!

There are a vast selection of weapons for each mission.  However some missions require specific weapons only so the others are not available

LZ secure, Blackhawk ready to pick up Delta team!

On board the black hawk.   Task:  To protect a convoy.  Use the Minigun to blast everyone out of space! On board the Black Hawk there are Minigun Emplacements.  Their rate of fire is awesome and enemies will soon start dropping like flies!

A technical exploding!!!

Convoy secure, mission accomplished!
