Out in the city, STATS and WIZARD take SALENE prisoner. They then confront MAY in the Casino, take her to see SALENE, and use MAY as a 'go between' to name their demands. They demand RAM's release in return for their hostage.
Late at night, MAY returns to the Mall and informs PRIDE that the SALENE has been taken hostage.
PRIDE grills MAY as to SALENE's whereabouts. She is unable to help him as she was blindfolded when taken there by STATS and WIZARD.
MAY, pining for PRIDE, goes off to look for him.
Awaking from a rough night's sleep, MAY continues her desperate search for PRIDE
To MOUSES' delight MAY returns to the mall, without having found PRIDE. There's still no sign of SALENE. MAY advises MOUSE to prepare for the worst - 'If Pride can't find her, no one can.
MAY makes her presence known, blaming the Technos for PRIDE's disappearance. MEGA assures her it's not his responsibility
MAY still in search of her beloved PRIDE tries her luck at the casino. To her surprise STATS and WIZARD make an appearance. She cunningly deceives them that the Mall Rats refuse to negotiate and that their best bet is eliminate SALENE. From a vantage point PRIDE overhears everything. With rage driving him he attacks SALENE's captors. WIZARD responds by firing his zapper and mortally wounding PRIDE. STATS and WIZARD flee, leaving MAY and PRIDE alone. In a dying wish PRIDE's begs of MAY to tell SALENE that he loves her.
AMBER's citynet broadcast is imminent and in the mall, the party is about to begin. MAY interrupts the revelry with news of PRIDE's demise. SALENE is heartbroken
It is Pride's funeral and The Tribe stand at his graveside. Salene makes a brave, pertinent speech; although is barely able to contain herself emotionally. MAY is feeling guilty and grief stricken. Unaware of the complexity of MAY's feelings, TRUDY does her best to comfort her.
On their return into the city, SALENE thanks a guilty feeling MAY for trying to get her released. Salene obviously does not realise the truth, how MAY suggested to the guards that SALENE be killed
MEGA tells MAY that he is on to her; he knows how she told WIZARD to kill SALENE. MAY feels vulnerable and realises the power MEGA now holds over her. MAY is worried about STATS and approaches SALENE to see if she would know his whereabouts. SALENE warns against approaching him. SALENE confides that PRIDE had proposed to her; MAY is still jealous. MAY emphasises that PRIDE was a free spirit who could not be tied down.
MAY challenges MEGA as to whether he has any proof of her deception. MEGA presents video footage of STATS telling all, MEGA's evidence. MEGA alludes to his intentions and MAY agrees to come over to his side and spy on the Mall Rats
MAY reports back to MEGA; yes, Jack and the Mall Rats were terrified by JACK's visit by the 'real life' ZOOT.
