| Malloy's Pub & pool has been registered as a haunted pub. We aren't the first to notice ghostly noises and haunting events; we're just the first to get it documented. People who frequented the building many years ago, when the bar was under different ownership, report having had paranormal experiences. A bartender for The Sports Connection, when it was in the building reported having many of the same experiences current owners, staff, and customers have at Malloy's today. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Day one: On the day we took possession of the building (in July '05), a closet door swung open twice, all on its own. Although we couldn't find a reason for it, we didn't know the building, yet. There was an odd feeling in the room, like someone was watching us, but...who doesn't get a bit of a creepy feeeling in a big, dark, strange building? A draft could have been the reason the door kept swining open, for all we knew. So, we thought little more of it. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Just before Malloy's was opened to the public (August '05), loud, heavy footsteps were heard walking across the upstairs floor. No one was up there. The thudding steps started at the head of the stairs and faded off as they moved toward the center of the room. Those footsteps have been heard many times since then. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Frequently, sounds like boxes being dropped or dragged have been heard by several different people. We even have one of the instances caught on audio/video. Verified by a former employee of the Sports Connection. | |||||||||||||||||||
| There are videos that show orbs responding to voice command...not dust particles or bugs. Perfect orbs that actually move through solid objects and respond approriately to requests. | |||||||||||||||||||
| A man was clearly seen, on a security camera, sitting at the east end of the bar. When the bartender and customers were asked about the man sitting there, they said that no one had been there at all. PICTURE LOADED ON THIS SIGHT NOW! | |||||||||||||||||||
| Footsteps and the feeling of being followed are heard and felt by customers and staff, from time to time, as they come down the stairs from the pool hall. It seems to stop about 2/3 of the way down. | |||||||||||||||||||
| A patron and bartender were alone in the main hall when the men's restroom door (in the dart room, but fully visible from the bar) opened and slammed shut on its own. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Some of our pool players have noticed VERY unusual activity with the pool balls...things unrelated to the tables being level and such. The paranormal investigators (see below) had an explanation for that...as may a video that we have. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Indiana Paranormal heard about the events in Malloy's, and asked permission to investigate. They traveled to Terre Haute and set up all kinds of equipment. It was just like the ghost hunter shows on TV! Because of that visit, they've registered us as a haunted pub. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Loud rattling sounds (like bolts being tossed) have been heard, in what appeared to be a response to a customer's challenge for the ghosts to make themselves known. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Twice, recently, two different bartenders have witnessed what is called an aport (on two different nights). A (ONE) pool stick was laying on a pool table when the employees went up to turn out the upstairs lights. No one else was in the pool hall with either of them on these particular nights. When they went back to set alarms and shut off the backroom lights, they had noticed the stick and intended to put it away upon returning. Both employees report that when they reurned to put the stick away, there were TWO sticks laying there instead of one. Perhaps the ghost was challenging them to a game of pool? Hehehe!
